Witch Denies Candy to Kids

Guest blogger Ronda Kaysen: If you're a 4-year-old Obama supporter, don't expect any Halloween candy from the Wicked Witch of Grosse Point Farms. This bitter McCain supporter in the Detroit suburb denied candy to trick-or-treaters who said they supported Obama, some of them toddlers.

Shirley Nagel posted a sign on her lawn that read: "No handouts for Obama supporters, liars, tricksters or kids of supporters." She even told a reporter, "Obama's scary." Some kids were so stunned and upset that they were brought to tears. "Oh well," she responded, clutching m&m packets stapled to McCain fliers. "Everybody has a choice." Wow. This lady sure takes the whole "trick" part of Halloween seriously. Does she remember that you have to be 18 to vote?

It’s really hard to believe somone could be this insensitive, especially to kids.

I think this is funny…wish I had thought of it. She posted signs warning people so what’s the big deal. When I took my daughter out many houses had their lights off and I didn’t get offend by those people not passing out candy. As a parent I would’ve just said to my kid “This house isn’t passing out candy, lets move on” No Big Deal!

Drama on both sides. But that’s what this whole election has been about, definately not real issues.

I totally agree with the last poster, “Nothing to see here, move on.”

A similar thing happened in our neighborhood only it was Obama supporters who did it. No one came and put them on tv, however.

What a crazy lady! I think this is dumb.
Since when do little kids have anything to say about a Presidential election? I mean really, what a cranky ole lady! She used Halloween to campain for McCain. She attached McCain flyers to candy for little kids? WEIRD!
