Check out the incredible video.

Texas police responding to a store's burglar alarm found a less-than-hardened criminal inside: He was 4, and playing with the toys at 3 a.m.

Detective Randy Stevens told the Associated Press the child apparently unlocked a door at his nearby home, got out, then crossed a street to reach the discount store.

Store surveillance video shows the unidentified boy trying one of the front doors to a Family Dollar store in Babout 3 a.m. Monday, only to find it locked. But the second door was unlocked and the child went inside. That triggered the silent alarm.

"When the officers got there, he was showing them his toys," said Officer Crystal Holmes.

Child Protective Services says the boy will be allowed to stay with extended relatives while they review the incident.

This is strange that a 4 year old would be awake at that hour and cross the street all by himself. Future burgler, perhaps? Seems like a clever little boy. The parents or parent will have to make sure to lock their door at night so this enterprising little boy can’t get out again. Lucky he wasn’t struck by a car or kidnapped.

Why was the door of the store unlocked I wonder?? That poor baby, he wasn’t even hardly wearing clothes, probably freezing cold. I am glad they are looking into his living situation.

emeraldeyes, if there were little Timmy, I’m sure your “future burglar comment wouldn’t have been made. The door was UNLOCKED. Didn’t you read that part of the story? How dare you accuse this little boy of being a future criminal. How typical.

Anyway, thank God lil man was okay.

THE EMPLOYEES AT THE FAMILY DOLLAR DID NOT DO A GOOD JOB LOCKING UP. THE MOTHER OF THE CHILD NEEDS TO GO TO JAIL. WHY IS HE OUTSIDE AT THAT TIME WITH HARDLY ANY CLOTHES ON. THE POLICE OFFICERS DID NOT SEEM AT ALL CONCERNED ABOUT THE LITTLE BOY.

I live in the town where this happened and it gets down into the 70’s at night. sure he might have been cold but i wouldn’t blame the parents for what he is wearing. He should have been in bed under the covers. What they need to do is move the locks higher up on the door. BTW, the road that he crossed is 5-6 lanes wide! That is one brave little boy.

Why was the child outside? In one way the person who suppose to lock the store door was probably asleep when he or she locked the door, but thank God the door was locked because i would not want to think about the consequences if the door was not opened, and i am glad that the family is been investigated, because something is very wrong for a 4yr old to get out at 3 in the morning.

Nice post. Nice to read. I’ve got a single observation to give about funny shirts.
