Armchair Detectives' Casey Anthony Theories

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Followers of the high profile Casey Anthony case have their own ideas about what happened to three-year-old Caylee.

armchair_detectives_casey_anthony_pm.jpg

Caylee and Casey Anthony were high up on the recently released list of Yahoo! 2008 most searched terms, coming in at number two. A search for Casey Anthony on Google garners a staggering seven million results -- it's no wonder interest in the high profile case continues to grow. Since a recent motion for a gag order was denied, those who can't turn away from the mystery of the whereabouts of Caylee Anthony continue to dig into the tragic story as if they were actually assigned to the case. Up to now, the most widely held hypothesis of what happened to Caylee is her mother, wanting to live the "party" life, attempted to sedate her child with a lethal dose of chloroform and hid the body in her the trunk of her car. She eventually disposed of the body in a yet to be revealed location.

Despite the mounds of circumstantial and forensic evidence that seem to point to this conclusion, there are still those with their own idea of what happened to Caylee. Check out some of their theories:

Casey is hiding Caylee from Cindy Anthony
Casey's mom Cindy allegedly told family members that she was considering filing for full custody of Caylee because Casey was an "unfit mother." Some believe this is the reason Casey made Caylee "disappear." Court documents released earlier this year said Casey wanted to give the Caylee up for adoption before she was born but Cindy Anthony wouldn't let her. And according to Casey's brother Lee, there was already bad blood between Casey and her mother because, in the delivery room, grandmother Cindy was handed newborn Caylee BEFORE Casey.

Caylee was left in a hot car
Both Cindy and Casey are responsible for Caylee's death. The mom and daughter went out shopping one day for groceries and left Casey accidentally inside the car. When they got back to the car, Caylee was dead. Later they both put the toddler in the trunk of the car and together disposed of the body.

Caylee was kidnapped by drug dealers
Since no one has come forward to identify the Caylee "sighting" at a Florida mall, many think the little girl was indeed kidnapped. Some who have viewed the images believe Caylee is being held captive or was killed by drug dealers in retaliation for a situation involving Casey's drug habit.

Casey's brother Lee is  Caylee's dad
No one seems to know who Caylee's father is -- although at one point Casey falsely told investigators he was killed in a car accident. Some people believe Casey's brother Lee is the actual father of Caylee. A police interview of Casey's former fiancée Jesse Grund revealed that Casey had once told him Lee made inappropriate sexual advances toward her. This alleged incest accusation could have resulted in a child. Many feel Casey's relationship with her brother is "creepy," referencing the way she refers to him as "sweetheart" as evidence of its inappropriate nature. Although this theory doesn't explain how Caylee met her fate -- some feel it explains the dysfunction of the Anthony family.

Casey planned to kill her entire family
According to reports, Casey told a friend  her parents were getting a divorce and giving her the house. Casey had claimed she was planning on moving in the Anthony house the weekend Caylee disappeared. Was Casey was planning on chloroforming George, Cindy and Caylee
as they slept and bury their bodies in the back yard? A few people think this might've been the case. The theory is the plan went sour when Cindy and Casey got into a physical fight over a financial matter and Casey killed Caylee to get even.

What do you think is the truth?

The word apparent does not mean there is no death band. Also , you have to remember LE would not have arrested her if they had no other evidence. If you have ever smelled a dead body, there in no mistaking it as pizza nor would cadaver dogs hit on a dead squirrel . It is absurd . I can see that the debate on this board is because many are not looking at the totality of the evidence. I think the fact that that hair has the mitro dna of Caylee or Casey is very telling. It can’t be Casey’s hair, she is not dead or missing. The smell, how can anyone explain away that smell?

Of course Casey killed her daughter, no questions. Of course her parents also knows what happened with Caylee. That is why they just reported child missing so late, to get some more time to do not find the body easily. By other way, I have a question: “Why are they not enjoying a jail with the daughter? Because not reporting a missing child it is they all responsibility. We don’t know who is covering who? Daughter(behind the bars), or grandma? or granddad? Who is the killer? Probably, all the family, didn’t report missing child and they all should be in jail.

I believe Casey was addicted to Xanax a prescription drug sold on the streets and very powerful. I know because I myself was addicted the them. While on these drugs you have no memory of what you do while on the drug. I read in one of her text messages she was talking about getting some Xanax. I believe while she was on the drug something happen to Caylee she did something with her body and really has no memory of where Caylee is. She cant remember what happen. Since she cant remember what happen she thinks she left her with someone and someone stole her. I know this sounds crazy but while I was on this drug my friends and family would be talking to me about a shopping trip we took and dinners, movies we watched ,places we went and i still have no memory of any of those things.

Tracy, you can’t really believe that Casey remembers every little detail of everything else, EXCEPT what happened to her daughter?

I still have a bit of a problem about the woman who says she saw Caylee at the airport. This woman seems to be intelligent, not a flake who wants attention and she never even knew about the case until she got home. The LE and FBI said they looked into it and it was not credible evidence. Prove it! If you look at the transcripts of Air Tran, all the names are blacked out. I think Caylee is dead, but there is still a reasonable doubt. Glad I am not a juror.

Lisa, That’s the best thing I have heard yet. She “remembers” every little detail, including middles names of everyone involved, but can’t remember where her daughter is at.

Nancy, how do you know what this woman who reported the sighting at the airport is like? The media said nothing about her. The cops found that a total bogus sighting. There weren’t even children Caylee’s age on the flight that day. When I heard about the sighting way back in August, I knew it was bogus. First of all, what kidnappers are going to allow a toddler to speak to passengers and tell them her name? She would have been sedated and kept hidden from passengers. I knew it couldn’t be Caylee because a homicide detective had testified that his cadaver dog had alerted and he smelled a dead body in Casey’s car trunk and it was a homicide investigation, not a missing child case. I think the woman called the Anthonys instead of police. If the woman existed, I suspect she made up the story to try to collect the quarter of a million dollar reward. I just find it suspicious that posters are bringing up that old bogus sighting now. Could it be Cindy trying to plant a seed of reasonable doubt in potential juror’s minds? I could go on that jury now and look at the evidence and not be swayed by a bogus sighting of a dead girl. There are still Elvis sightings also and he has been dead for more than 30 years.

If Casey sold Caylee there would have been no need for her to steal from Amy to buy paper towels and chicken wings or ugly blue shirts or big white sun glasses and risk getting charged with that crime upon Amy’s return…she would have had money to fill up her tank…to get that apartment etc…she had no money of her own, that’s why she stole. Someone mentioned here something interesting about the chloroform, maybe the intention was to make it look as if Casey was drugged and the child was stolen but her plan fell apart when the car got towed and her mother started hunting down her friends that led Cindy to her, Casey is all about the attention being on her, she was all about the partying and the complaining about the little snot head cramping her style…I know just from IM’s and text messages that have been released her mother ragged on her about being a mother…she had difficulties finding a sitter so she could party with her friends…I think Casey starting drugging that baby a long time a go and oops she drugged her one too many times and had to come up with something, was probably going to claim car jacking/kidnapping but that plan fell apart so she had to find a new story and a new story quick…Leonard Padilla said it best the other night on Nancy Grace…Casey Anthony only lives her life 10 minutes at a time, if she doesn’t have an answer she will come up with one, she’s always got to have something to say. My fear is that she put that child somewhere where animals would get to her and she would be scattered or completely consumed, I hate to think of that but we know she didn’t leave that area based on her cell phone pings, if there is anything left of her it’s going to be very difficult to find, the only hope I think of ever knowing what Casey did to her is for them to take the death penalty off the table if she fesses up, that or one of her family members that knows the truth will speak up…because someone in that family knows exactly what happened.

I just re-read Anthony Lazzaro’s testimony to the police. (time frame: some time between june 22-28, he couldn’t recall)He remembers Casey had definitely slept over his house the night before Casey called from the Amscot, he remembered this because in the morning, she woke up and left but told him she was coming back. Later, he gets a call from Casey telling him she ran out of gas and he goes to pick her up. She’s already waiting outside the car, doesn’t let him near it and she’s carrying bags with groceries AND CLOTHES (!) from her MOTHER’s house. now at this point George and Cindy have not seen Casey or Caylee. so she must have known they were not home. THIS IS THE MORNING Casey went to her mother’s house to deposit caylee’s body, this must be the time she backed into the garage, took the body in the backyard, and either buried it there or decided not to, and took it somewhere and disposed of it, but not before grabbing some Tyson chicken wings and ice pops from her mom’s freezer to bring to Tony.

ok, now follow me here… Casey asked AMY to help her and borrow gas cans so that she can get her car from the Amscot, see Amy testimony. I believe Casey planned to get rid of the car and all the evidence, possibly by burning the car. She could let Amy near the car because she had already planted the seeds that “something had died” in her car, and later texted her an explanation of the dead squirrel she found “plastered” to the front bumper . When Amy smelled the bad smell, she’d already be expecting it, and have an explanation for it… (I’m going to look up the dates on those text messages.) But when they got there, the car had already been towed. Casey claims her dad must have gotten it. And the stain and stray hair remained.

(please refer to my previous 2 posts above to follow my theory): I re-read Amy’s testimony to the police. June 25th was the first day Casey mentions it smelling like “something died in her car” to Amy. Casey claims the smell gets worse and on the 27th of June, she says she located the smell, an animal “plastered” to her car’s front bumper. Casey also claims to have gotten RID of the animal and smell. June 27th is the day Casey called Tony to pick her up from the Amscot (this is proven by cell records),it’s also the day she got food and a change of clothes form her parents house. June 27th is the day Casey disposed of Caylee’s remains. Now, on the 30th shows up on Amy’s door and asks her for gas can (in the transcript). Stays with Amy until Amy goes to work. Tony’s out of town and Casey’s been driving Tony’s car. Now, here’s my theory she drove Tony’s car to the Amscot that evening with Amy’s gas cans but the car was gone, having been towed that day.

She stays with Amy from June 30th to July 5th, hiding out, formulating her lies. When Amy asks about Caylee, Casey says she’s with the nanny, she’s upset she can’t be with her, but says that “she’s in a better place” than here with all the drama with Cindy, the made up stories that Caylee’s in Disneyland, Busch Gardens, the beach, all fun great “better places” for Caylee, her mind probably starts to believe it. She has no guilt Caylee’s in a better place, gets her nails done, gets a tattoo, parties, moves in with Tony. So June 27th the body is dumped, this is the date police should focus on. Where did Casey go on the morning of the 27th when she left Tony’s house? I think that date is more important to the case now, to find the body, than the day she was killed. the 27th, she went to her parents house, we KNOW this, were there any google searches on the computer that day? any mapquested directions? anyone see her that morning? The child died, I don’t believe she was murdered, I don’t know, but I think it was an accident and one big cover up after another that snowballed, that avalanched. When? The theory is child was killed around the 16th of June. So the baby was in the trunk for 10 days? Is that consistent with the decomposition results? anyone know?

Sally, one interesting thing on this woman who supposedly had this long absurd conversation with the apparently chatty kidnapper on the plane, she gave an interview and still contends it was Caylee. There is a dog breeder in Florida with her exact name , who by the way breeds Yorkies, which Cindy has. On a dog breeders site there are warnings about this woman in which many people allege she sells sick puppies and tell untruths about their pedigrees. When confronted apparantly she would not return the money. Two ways I find this relevant, one is if it is the same woman, she does not sound too reliable or intelligent, I am sure if the FBI investigated the tip, they looked at who it came from. Secondly, does Cindy perhaps know this woman because she maybe got a dog from her? I would not put it past Cindy to put someone up to telling a little story. Also to the person who seems to think the FBI could not prove if Caylee was on the plane, get real , they checked the manifest and if there were no children on it, then I guess somebody dressed Caylee up as old man , right?LOL Secondly if there were children I am positive the FBI has the tools to contact those people and find out if there children are legitimately supposed to be with them. Believe you me, when they go to trial, the FBI is not going to go in empty handed. And I totally agree, the kidnapper would not have this kid on a plane, letting her just chat up passengers about her name, where she lives , etc. What is this, the dumbest kidnapper ever?

Patty, according to Dr Joshua Perper , an ME and forensic pathologist, for the car to still smell as observers said it still did, the body would have to have been in the car for at least 7 days or maybe more. So you could be right on the money.

Thanks, Julia, for that information on the woman who claimed she saw Caylee on the plane. I suspected all along that the woman knew Cindy. I think Cindy coached the woman on what Caylee would have said had she seen her on the plane. I’ve always been convinced that Cindy knew Caylee was dead the minute she smelled that dead body in the car. I was more convinced when George told the investigators that after he brought the car home, Cindy was pacing and saying, “We lost her” and when he asked who she said, “Caylee.” I’m positive now Cindy knew Caylee was dead when that woman claimed she saw Caylee on the plane after watching the jail house interviews released yesterday. Cindy said she is always on camera so asked Casey what she wanted her to tell Zanny and Casey. Casey told her to tell Zanny to bring Caylee home and to tell Caylee she loved her. Yet, all the times Cindy has appeared on TV, she has never relayed those messages because she knew Caylee was dead and couldn’t hear it and that Zanny didn’t exist. Cindy even told the investigators that she thought Zanny was whatever friend Casey was staying with. She even said Zanny could be Jesse or Amy. I think Casey and Cindy are both pathological liars and Cindy is making it a mission to get her daughter off on murdering her grandchild using bogus “sightings” as reasonable doubt.

Julia, I am also convinced that Cindy is the author of these Momlogic blog posts about the phony airport sightings. They contain Cindyisms such as telling the FBI to “prove” that Caylee wasn’t on that plane. Cindy is always challenging the FBI to prove everything and when they do she says “air tests don’t mean anything, DNA isn’t 100 per cent.” False sighting posts also read: “she is out there somewhere… Pray for Caylee Marie’s safe return.” Cindy always uses the words “she is out there somewhere” and Cindy is the only one I know who refers to her granddaughter as Caylee Marie. It is too late to pray for Caylee Marie’s safe return. Cindy should be praying for her daughter’s soul. Another poster also wrote: “but there is still a reasonable doubt. Glad I am not a juror.” This is what Cindy wants potential jurors to believe. It’s not true. Phony sightings do not raise reasonable doubt. I have reasonable doubt that Cindy Anthony knows the truth about anything. Lying comes as natural to her as her daughter.

Well momlogic, if Casey would just tell the TRUTH we all wouldn’t have to speculate. Funny you call us with theory’s ARM CHAIR Detective. You DON’T have a clue to what these people do for a living! At least some of us get out and work to make a living and not on our computer day in and day out picking on other sites. Why not add a few more ads to your site!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t you think the FBI has looked in their yard I mean they would see if a fresh area had been dug if it was. I don’t think the parents have anything to do with it at all. Give Cindy and George a break, they are heartbroken grandparents and parents. Casey knows where she is and I think your right she gave the baby meds to make her sleep and they did just that… put the baby to sleep forever. Pray for Cindy and George they are hurting. Casey will get her day in court and I’m sure she will spend the rest of her life in prison.

Sally, ever heard Nancy Grace repeat that saying “Careful what you wish for , for you will surely get it.”? I think Cindy needs to think about this when she says prove this or prove that because the FBI has unlimited talent, intelligence, reach and resources, so if it is proof she desires in court, she will surely get it. And I totally agree Cindy knows the truth, thus the wrong hairbrush. As for her dumb statement dna is not 100 per cent, if she means mitrochrondial dna is not 100 per cent well no it is not as conclusive as some dna ,but someone with the same maternal dna is Caylee is dead in the trunk, and that is going to be devastating in court, as it should be. By the way Sally I enjoy your posts.

I want to know why Lee is talking to Casey in secret code (well not really), but after listening to the jailhouse conversations they had, its like they both know what they are saying but trying to keep it hush hush because they know they are being recorded. If everything is suppose to be about looking for Caylee, why in gods name would they be acting like they don’t want anybody to know what they are talking about? Its just plain strange. Hes talking about 3 people and wont name them, and who she talked to more the one or the first 2 he mentioned, its bull##3%% if you ask me. And then listening to Cindy tell Casey that after Caylee comes home , then Casey can tell what she knows and get released . So if she supposedly knows something , why wait? And didn’t Cindy at one time say they people who have Caylee knew they were being watched? I truly think this family must have excaped from a institution for the criminally insane.
