Followers of the high profile Casey Anthony case have their own ideas about what happened to three-year-old Caylee.

Caylee and Casey Anthony were high up on the recently released list of Yahoo! 2008 most searched terms, coming in at number two. A search for Casey Anthony on Google garners a staggering seven million results -- it's no wonder interest in the high profile case continues to grow. Since a recent motion for a gag order was denied, those who can't turn away from the mystery of the whereabouts of Caylee Anthony continue to dig into the tragic story as if they were actually assigned to the case. Up to now, the most widely held hypothesis of what happened to Caylee is her mother, wanting to live the "party" life, attempted to sedate her child with a lethal dose of chloroform and hid the body in her the trunk of her car. She eventually disposed of the body in a yet to be revealed location.

Despite the mounds of circumstantial and forensic evidence that seem to point to this conclusion, there are still those with their own idea of what happened to Caylee. Check out some of their theories:

Casey is hiding Caylee from Cindy Anthony
Casey's mom Cindy allegedly told family members that she was considering filing for full custody of Caylee because Casey was an "unfit mother." Some believe this is the reason Casey made Caylee "disappear." Court documents released earlier this year said Casey wanted to give the Caylee up for adoption before she was born but Cindy Anthony wouldn't let her. And according to Casey's brother Lee, there was already bad blood between Casey and her mother because, in the delivery room, grandmother Cindy was handed newborn Caylee BEFORE Casey.

Caylee was left in a hot car
Both Cindy and Casey are responsible for Caylee's death. The mom and daughter went out shopping one day for groceries and left Casey accidentally inside the car. When they got back to the car, Caylee was dead. Later they both put the toddler in the trunk of the car and together disposed of the body.

Caylee was kidnapped by drug dealers
Since no one has come forward to identify the Caylee "sighting" at a Florida mall, many think the little girl was indeed kidnapped. Some who have viewed the images believe Caylee is being held captive or was killed by drug dealers in retaliation for a situation involving Casey's drug habit.

Casey's brother Lee is Caylee's dad
No one seems to know who Caylee's father is -- although at one point Casey falsely told investigators he was killed in a car accident. Some people believe Casey's brother Lee is the actual father of Caylee. A police interview of Casey's former fiancée Jesse Grund revealed that Casey had once told him Lee made inappropriate sexual advances toward her. This alleged incest accusation could have resulted in a child. Many feel Casey's relationship with her brother is "creepy," referencing the way she refers to him as "sweetheart" as evidence of its inappropriate nature. Although this theory doesn't explain how Caylee met her fate -- some feel it explains the dysfunction of the Anthony family.

Casey planned to kill her entire family
According to reports, Casey told a friend her parents were getting a divorce and giving her the house. Casey had claimed she was planning on moving in the Anthony house the weekend Caylee disappeared. Was Casey was planning on chloroforming George, Cindy and Caylee
as they slept and bury their bodies in the back yard? A few people think this might've been the case. The theory is the plan went sour when Cindy and Casey got into a physical fight over a financial matter and Casey killed Caylee to get even.

Casey is so confused !! Her plan A … didn’t pan out and she didn’t have enough time to come up with plan B .. and it just got all stupid. from dropping Caylee off at zany’s to zany and her sister samantha kidnapping Caylee. If you really stop and think about it her plan A is pretty easy. (She parks her car by a dumpster in a busy check cashing place. Leaves her keys and her purse on the front seat in hopes her car would be stolen .. that would solve all her problems, all she has to say is she got her car ripped with caylee in it and they killed her.) But it didn’t pan out and the car was towed before stolen. I really think zany was plan B and she didn’t have time to think it all out and it just turned out to be a bunch of stupid crazy lies after lies trying to cover more lies. I think Caylee was killed accidently by an over dose and in sheer panic Casey went out of control … remember she is only 23. A live-in mom being taken care of by Mom & Dad. I also believe Casey was a good Mom gone wild. Casey is a high school drop out … she has been home with her family for years taking care of a baby (thats why babies shouldn’t be birthing babies))so all that knew Casey like her family and close friends seen Casey as a perfect mother. (Till Casey met a differant group of people) Thats when they noticed the change in Casey … She started going out … making the family watch the baby … stealing money … drinking and party’s … These new friends are differant than Casey’s little world … They are college students … some with careers … Casey felt bad of being a high school dropout .. a mom and stuck at home with no job no life. Amy her friend she stole from, had money was able travel and wanted Casey to go with her, But Casey couldn’t go .. She was stuck with a baby and no money. when Cindy started coming down on Casey about stealing money and the parties and she was sick of watching Caylee every night. Casey got desperate and started druging Caylee …… 1 time to many. Macy

i think she probably had this personality for a long time. she was the center of attention somewhat whereas lee was not and is a better person for it. she was irresponsible in school not paying attention, being a half assed everything because she got away with it and then she got pregnant and had the baby because of her own mother’s urging and her world changed. everything focused around caylee, not her. this was hard for her ego and need for attention. she had to work and give up her own selfish desires like partying, doing nothing, being promiscuous, shopping…because she had to be an adult. but she was immature long before she had a kid let alone after having a kid. and it got worse exponentially. she saw her friends working and living on their own and being in charge of themselves while she was still living at home like a teenager in high school on a curfew responsible for a toddler she hadn’t wanted. she got no child support from the father’s family, whoever he is! and was fired from the one job she liked as an event coordinator or let go. so she stole money from everyone, did nothing, lied, and lived like a gypsy wherever she could and slept on couches. then her mother cindy confronted her about stealing the money from the grandmother in the rest home and chokes her and that’s it. that’s the final straw. casey takes caylee out of spite and accidentally?? or intentionally kills her, panics, calls anthony and talks throughout the whole night who tells her to dispose of the body (in a sense he is an accomplice) and becomes a refugee somewhat. the only reason cindy found her was because of the letter from the towing company informing her of the abandoned car and cindy driving to casey’s friends homes until she finally hit jackpot and found her at tony’s or amy’s and making her come with her. then all hell breaks loose. caylee has been missing for a month and cindy is still so oblivious to her own daughter she believes the BS zanny story and casey rides it for everything its worth. and now here we are.

Yesterday was the day we had all been waiting for. I had always believed if Caylee’s body was going to be found, it would be found by a hiker or someone who wasn’t searching for Caylee. I hadn’t thought that the body would be in a plastic bag and protected somewhat from the elements and animals so that it would be fairly well preserved even though it was underwater for six months. I also was shocked that the mouth of dear little Caylee had been duct taped. Although it is a sad day for all of us who cared about Caylee, it was a good day for the prosecution because they now have a stronger case for first degree murder against Casey Anthony and it eliminates any doubt that Caylee is dead. With a body, they may be able to get the evidence they need to prove cause of death, manner of death, if there is chloroform in the body and may get fingerprint or DNA evidence of the killer from the duct tape or plastic bag. I for the life of me can’t figure out why as soon as they heard the news instead of mourning their granddaughter’s death and planning a funeral, the grandparents scheduled another interview on the Larry King Show for tonight. They refuse to put their granddaughter first but instead continue to campaign for their daughter’s innocence no matter how much evidence is stacked against her.

I think its clear that Casey left Caylee in the car while she attended to her “recreational” activities and Caylee perished there. And she will never admit to it, ever. SO sad.

I am sure that this is not the big secret new development that George was referring to. What a sad but expected ending for little Caylee. Now we can hear about all those theories that George and Cindy couldn’t discuss because Casey told them it would hurt Caylee. I wonder when the first Anthony book will be released? I can see that Cindy will never come to grips with the evil in her daughter. I believe that Casey sedated Caylee on other occasions and she went too far the last time. She covered her mouth with duct tape and made her breath in the chloroform. She kept the duct tape on in case she awoke while “Mommy” was partying. She put her in the trunk expecting to wake her when she was done. When she found what she had done she most likely did panic and knowing that her parents were away she went to the house to think of a way out. Caylee may have been in the trunk for many hours. I imagine that she put Caylee in the pool to fill her little lungs with water. Remember the pool ladder was down and both George and Cindy said that it was up when they left. She then borrows the shovel from the neighbor and buries Caylee in the woods down the street. So, when the body is eventually found Casey can say that she was in shock and didn’t remember what happened after she found Caylee in the pool. She probably didn’t think to take the duct tape off her mouth as she had to hurry as not to be seen. As to the confrontation with George at the back of her car, there was still Caylee’s car seat and clothing and other evidence in the trunk that Casey didn’t want him to see. George and Cindy had to have known in their hearts that Casey killed Caylee but couldn’t give up the hope of finding her alive. They grabbed onto every tidbit Casey fed them. I think that when Caylee’s body was not found right away, it became a game to Casey and she actually started enjoying it and the notoriety. She was feeling good that there would be no more searches in the area of the home and her team of experts could win this for her because there was no body. When do you

I’m leaning toward the theory of an incestuous familial relationship in the Anthony household. I do not know if George Anthony is the biological father of Casey Marie Anthony. (Has DNA testing been done to verify Casey’s paternity?) One theorist stated that the brother, Lee Anthony could possibly be Caylee’s father, due to the fact of “Caylee’s’ name. Cay (for Casey Anthony) and ley (for Lee Anthony), hence, the name “Caylee”. If this case is true, and Casey and Lee are indeed the parents of Caylee and the biological off-spring of Cindy Anthony, I can see where she (Cindy) may believe she has parental dominance in this incestuous bloodline. If the above case bares any truth, I can understand why Cindy Anthony (matriarch/patriarch) would display such atrocious/non-logical behavior on the national news media to protect her “immediate family secrets”. I also believe that Casey finally got to the ‘breaking point’ of the secret and made the ultimate sacrifice in order to “trump” the her Mother (Cindy), “The Mother of Lies.

How can people be missing this, If it is the mother obviously she must be dysfunctional. Who would kill their own child. How could a person do that and live with themselves. It makes me sad to know this happens. She must have some mental issues and obviously always had from what I have read. In the end people will see that shes the only one responsible for the death of her child, If it is her child they found. Did she even know this susposed person/babysitter. If not shes responsible no matter what. Obviously she had more important things to do. My heart goes to the three year old and only the three year old. I feel only sadness for Casey and even more for her mother.

Now comes the blame game. They couldn’t say anything before because they refused to entertain the thought that Caylee was dead. So, now they will throw everyone under the bus. Look out Tony, Jesse, Amy and even Lee. Casey will blame them all because she will NEVER admit what she has done. I’m very disappointed that the grandparents did not fight for little Caylee - her little body decomposing steps away from them. They should have interrogated Casey until she cracked - they had her there in their home all that time in between jail - and in their visits - no one in the family cared. They are not protecting Casey either - they are protecting their own image. What will they look like if they raised such a person… You knew your daughter was stealing and telling lies, but you let her take away the baby for days, weeks… It was a full month before you looked for her. And why did you look? Because George was concerned Casey hadn’t changed the oil in the car for that long. When George was so concerned about his gas cans, did he think of asking where Caylee is - how he needs to see her immediately? Then the cover up. Now the blame - even if Casey’s fingerprints are on the duct tape “Oh, Casey was just cutting some pieces of tape off for Tony…she didn’t know what he wanted them for”. Caylee didn’t have anyone to stand up to her Mom for her. The video where Casey is pushing cake into little Caylee’s face was very disturbing to me. It was too harsh for a Mom to be doing to her child - and Casey’s face was wierd.

I think its time for Cindy to wake up and see reality. Little Caylee may be gone from this world but shes in another one looking down knowing her killer is being apeased by her nana, the one person in the world she probably thought she could count on. Cindy, make caylee proud and STOP protecting her killer!!!!!!!..enough is enough, its time to let casey take the blame for what shes done. Stand by her still then if you want, but at least let her know ( as I know deep in your heart you know the truth about casey) that you know what she did to caylee..Caylee deserves better than to be treated like she didnt matter..show her she was and is the most important thing in the world.

Just to add, I also am a “nana” to 2 little girls ages 4 and 5…I talk to them each day many times, see them every single day, I know where they are every day. I know what they eat, drink and snack on, what they wear, what they are watching on tv, and most especially WHO THEY ARE WITH…and this is daily…If one of my grandchildren was missing for 1 hour I would be calling the FBI..not waiting a month…I am just pointing this out because cindy said she saw caylee every day up til the day she was missing, then it seemed she didnt worry for a month..I would have went ballastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree with tina. i don’t understand how the casey’s went a month with not really worrying about caylee. they say they asked about her but i would think if the child lives with you you’d do more than ask where she is, you’d be finding her. how do they allow caylee to spend the night with “the babysitter” for a month???? as domineering as cindy is i can’t imagine her being ok with it. didn’t casey and caylee live with them?? i’ve always thought cindy knows more than she is letting on and i’ve noticed in several interviews she looks down and to the left which is a sign of lying.

Cindy is protecting the very person that took little Caylees life..Casey!..and I believe she chose to “overlook” alot of things in the 3 years of that babys life letting casey get by with so much, I would have been all up in the court system getting custody of my grandchildren had they been left with this and that babysitter here and there, with casey out partying and stealing money…no no, she wouldnt have had any say so whatsoever in the raising of a child….Cindy is just as much to blame..sad to say.. And I agree with Mollysmom, she knows alot more than shes letting on…she needs to talk, and stop babying an adult .

I have followed this case since the beginning & since the beginning I knew the little girl was dead plain and simple Casey accidently killed her but still knowing she was harming her I think she had been drugging the little girl since a long time ago in a video shown with her great grandfather she looks almost dazed off the little girl..My opinion is that she met this guy her mom wanted her to be responsible for Caylee and she drugged her and she accidently left her in the trunk drugged and left her there until she couldn’t stand the smell and dumped the car and the body she does feel bad but in her crazy head she sees it as a accident

Casey…Lee…Cay…Lee Caylee..What was that about Lee being Caylee’s father? Could it be and that Casey combined her and Lee’s name to get Caylee? I hope that she rots in jail! She almost got away with it and hopefully now Caylee can rest in peace.

I still think “zani the nanny”is a reference to Xanax. Sounds like she was drugging her so she could party, accidentally overdosed her, panicked and got rid of the body. Whatever the truth is, she’s a lowlife of the worst kind.

Has anyone looked at the dates Casey Anthony said the last time she seen Caylee was on June 9,2008,Caylee was at the nursing home with Cindy on June 16,2008.So the last person that seen Caylee alive was Cindy????Is Cindy Zanda???

I think she killed her daughter by chloroforming her and leaving her in the trunk of her car so that she could spend time doing whatever it is she wanted to do. I believe this was an ongoing thing with her, and I believe she probably taped her mouth on more than one occassion just in case the little girl woke up. I think that she overdosed her the last time, hoping that she would not wake up. I hate to say it but I hope that this was the case anyway, because I would hate to think that Caylee had to suffer in any way. I think she then drove to the parents house when they were not home borrowed the shovel from the neighbor buried her daughter in the back yard (which is why the dog hit in the back yard), but then later had second thoughts about this, and dug her back up. I think she did this after her father left for work on the 24th, he also went in the trunk of her car on the 24th and spotted the gas cans that he had reported stolen. If you notice there was no mention of any smell at that point. I think after her father left she dug up the little girl placed her in the trunk of her car and disposed of the bag up the street from her house. Then with the smell being so bad, disposed of the car, until it was later towed away. I personally believe she should get the death penalty, this was so premeditated. She seems to have no remorse for any of this, and I seriously don’t believe that giving her life will make her think about what she did, everyday for the rest of her life. She is an evil person.
