Where Does Casey Anthony Get Her Lies?

Casey Anthony may have gotten her lies from some unlikely sources.

Maybe, if things had gone differently, Casey Anthony would've been a writer -- she certainly knows how to tell a story. And she enjoys her television shows -- particularly, so it seems, "One Tree Hill." According to reports, her explanation of how her daughter disappeared could have been inspired by the popular show.

Apparently, while searching for the terms "chloroform," "neck breaking" and "shovels" back in March, she also Googled for info on the 100th episode of the CW drama series. The episode's plot line features a 5-year-old child kidnapped by a nanny and subsequently rescued by his grandfather. Could it be that Casey took this plot line and created a fictitious woman named Zenaida Gonzalez then claimed "Zanny the Nanny" is responsible for the disapearance of her daughter? If so, the relevance of One Tree Hill combined with the other Google searches could point to a premeditation in the murder of Caylee. Check out a partial transcript of the show.

It's chilling how Casey Anthony -- from the moment she announced Caylee was missing -- has been able to stick to her story. "Sociopaths look for a plausible explanation and run with it," says New York Times bestselling crime writer Gregg Olsen. "I'm sure that they use TV, the Internet, and whatever media they can dredge up to find their inspiration. It's all about the lie and never backing down. They know they need a story to go along with whatever they've done."

Lying is second nature to sociopaths. In "Without Conscience," Dr. Robert Hare says that "lying, deceiving and manipulation are natural talents for psychopaths. When caught in a lie or challenged by the truth, they are seldom perplexed or embarrassed -- they simply change their stories or attempt to rework the facts so that they appear to be consistent with the lie."

So far Casey has stuck with her account of her daughter's disappearance. Now that little Caylee's body has been found, will she ever change her story? Comment in the momlogic community.

Where does Casey get her lies? From growing up around her mother Cindy. These last 6 months have exposed Cindy as one of the best storytellers. Cindy has even got the ever straight forward George to lie.

She created a lie based on a TV show, songs, etc…I do not see much “creativity” on her behalf. Just another wannabee-has been, just like her attorney.

Seems to me the actress who played the nanny on OTH fits Casey’s description of ‘Zanny’. Of course, could be nothing, but certainly is creepy.

I agree with - mrrealist. Cindy is the core inspiration for her lying, manipulation and physociopathic tendancies. On a seperate note, I think the prosecution wil debunk the nanny theory. Afetrall, she was an unemployed, highschool dropout. How couls she afford a nanny in the first place?

There’s nothing amazing about Casey sticking to her idiotic story. Her family has bent over backwards to ensure her that they believe anything she’s willing to tell them. Casey is sadistic and her family are a bunch of wimpy masochists who don’t have enough fortitude to stop being Casey’s victim even after the sacrifice of the youngest member of the whole dysfunctional family. These three sickos deserve each other.

Hold on a sec! Zani the Nanny has been a lie for quite some time, maybe years. Casey used Zani the Nanny to explain where Caylee was spending the night. What nobody is looking into is that if we are convinced that Zani the Nanny never existed, then where was Caylee spending the night all those times? I suspect that what Casey did with Caylee when the little girl was alive was more sinister than what she did the day Caylee died.

Personally, I believe Casey was sexually abused in the past (NOT that this absolves her of any wrongdoing). She’s perversely damaged— an emotionally distant pathological liar who gave life with selfish hopes that it would bring her the attention— in her mind— that she rightfully deserves. The whole family is in an extreme state of denial, her mother especially.. Perhaps Casey’s only truth was about the alleged abuse from her father and brother. I wish they’d interview more of her “friends”, or just people she knew during her short time in high school. It seems she didn’t have many (or any for that matter). The people that did know her only knew her superficially. How long has she been a calculating shell of a human being? Her family knows, but they’ll guard Casey’s secrets to the grave, as she is attempting to do regarding her own daughter.

I heard that Zanny the Nanny is a fictinal character in a book, and the narrartor is named Jeff. Remember Jeff, supposedly referred Zanny the Nanny.

What is amazing still, is it appears that Casey thinks by sticking to her made up story she will ultimately “get over” on everyone including law enforcement and walk out of jail. I cant wait to see all the evidence in this case and how Cindy and Baez masterminded an obstruction to the case. The truth will come out, casey will spend the rest of her life in jail and the anthony family will forever live in shame for how they knowingly obstructed the search and perpetuated Casey’s story just to try and get her off.

I don’t think that she’s that good at keeping her lies straight. First she says that she dropped Caylee off at the Sawgrass Apts. Then she says that Zanni and her sis Samantha abducted Caylee at the park and gave her a script to follow. She is the worst lier I have ever encountered. The fact that she documented the odor in her car before she was even a suspect tells all.

Casey must’ve also watched the TV show “Lost”…she said that Caylee was “my constant” during a taped jail conversation. Only someone famaliar with the lost TV show would have used this word in the way she used it…having a “constant” is an important part of the Lost plot…a way to get back to where you were safely according to the plot. Casey also looked up “Lost numbers” on Google. And she named her imaginary friend “Juliette Lewis” which is the name of an actress in a movie that Casey had watched.

It is evident that she is a sociopath and with that fact known her behavior is well in line with what she is. She assumes she will be believed and when anyone DARE question any lie she decides to tell she reacts as all sociopaths do; with anger. She has no regard for the lives, property etc. of absolutely anyone else. Her family has and will continue to “cover” for her. They are not in the least surprised by her behavior; she has ALWAYS been a sociopath. She has been lying, stealing and defying authority all her life and they know it. I only believe that they may not have thought her capable of murder. People are only there for her to use and when they get in her way, well hell! they gotta go! Her family needs to step up and do the right thing now for Caylee; it is all they will EVER be able to do for her. Tell the authorities what they know and let the chips fall where they may. I once had a professor at school who said the only way to deal with sociopaths is to ship them all to a remote island and let them terrorize each other; at least society would be protected from them. Too bad she did’nt ship out before Caylee got in her way.

It seems Casey was jealous of Caylees relationship with the grandparents. Casey wanted to go out and party but didnt want the grandparents to have Caylee. She is a selfish, self centered witch that deserves to be punished. Lie after lie, story after story—when it all boils down to Caylee being thrown out like garbage by her own mother

I’ve seen those dead eyes before.. the last time I saw that look was on Karla Homolka’s face, the murderer of young Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffey of St. Catharines,Ontario,Canada. I’ll never forget what the community went through. It was horrible. No soul. Nothing there. I hope the LE holds out for more evidence against the rest of Casey’s family and denies them ANY TYPE of immunity whatsoever. It’s pretty obvious that they ALL deserve to be in jail.

Cindy is a liar but nothing like her daughter. I think it is fascinating that Casey uses what she’s read in books, the Internet and movies and TV to spin her fantastic tales about Zanny the Nanny who kidnapped Caylee to cover up her crime. Even in court, it appears that she is still Alice in Wonderland looking all demure, pretty and innocent smiling at her attorney and never flinching, crying or gagging at the mention of her daughter’s skeletal remains. She wants nothing to do with the little snothead and thought she’d gotten rid of her. But Caylee has this way of reaching from the grave and pulling her back to face the music. Casey was most likely irritated that the judge forced her to appear at the hearing in shackles instead of allowing her to remain in her cell admiring her nails, eating her sweets and listening to her radio.

Who gives a crap if Casy was abused? Personally, I don’t believe she was, because her defense team would have already thrown George or Lee under the bus to defend their client. She’s just pure nasty, evil a sadistic manipulator who in her warped mind thought everyone, including the cops would say OK Casey, we don’t have to go all the way to Universal Studios to see your office, we believe yyou went to Fusion nightclub to ‘investigate Caylee’s whereabouts’ even though you waited 31 days before calling police. She got a rude awakening when law enforcement didn’t walk on eggshells when they wanted answers, except for the 2 cops that screwed Casey and were fired. Everything & everyone she touches have there lives ruined or wind up dead.

I think she chloroformed the child and put her in the trunk whenever she wanted to go out and party. The tape was so if she woke up, she couldn’t cry out and be discovered by a passer by. Then she either forgot she was there, or gave her too much sleep medicine, or taped her nose, and the child died accidentally. I agree - one can only imagine what that child went through. What do any of these people do for a living, anyway? And why couldn’t the parents have just taken custody of Caylee if Casey didn’t want the responsibility. What a bunch of losers!

ZANI THE NANNY = ZANEX. put the kids on zanex and it knocks them out, which is exacty where “Zani the Nanny” came from.

Didn’t Casey Anthony make the comment that she gave her daughter zanax to her daughter to make her go to sleep? A street name for zanax is “zanny”…so put those two together. She left her daughter with a nanny named Zanny and no one knows who that is.
