Staff at an Australian phone company denied a stay-at-home mother a cell phone because she didn't have a real job.

Lyndal Fair, 36, said that she was shocked when the Vodafone employees told her that they don't sell phones to full-time moms.

The mom of three was instructed to ask her husband to get the phone using his name.

"For anyone to suggest that being a mum isn't a real job is just ridiculous," said Fair. "I thought we'd gone past this sort of outdated way of thinking. Obviously the message hasn't got through at Vodafone."

Her husband, Michael, supports his family as an industrial electrician.

Did the company require a proof of income? If so that could be the problem-not that she’s a sahm.
