An announcement was made today in Florida.

It's been confirmed that the skeletal remains found in Florida are that of Caylee Marie Anthony. Sheriff's officials delivered the news at a 2 PM press conference in Orlando. Word came after the FBI forensic lab in Virginia matched Caylee's DNA with bones found a quarter-mile from her grandparents' home. Officials say the cause of death was homicide.

Medical Examiner Dr. Jan Gervais said, "With regret, I am here to inform you that the skeletal remains found on Dec. 11 are those of the missing toddler Caylee Anthony."

Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, was notified in jail, where she is awaiting trial on a murder charge stemming from the child's disappearance this summer. Her reaction to the announcement was not known. Orange County Jail spokesman Allen Moore said a psychologist would be available for Anthony if needed.

The toddler's grandparents -- George and Cindy Anthony -- learned the news at their home on Hopespring Drive. Their attorney, Brad Conway, said earlier Friday that the couple had remained hopeful that the remains were not Caylee's, but were realistic about the alternative.

No matter how horrible it was, this toddler was killed way back in June. Having found Caylee’s body before the first degree murder trial of her mother is a blessing. Now Caylee can be laid to rest and all the speculation that Caylee is alive and well can be laid to rest also. The medical examiner has ruled that Caylee was murdered. The state now can prove beyond a reasonable doubt with scientific and circumstantial evidence that Casey Anthony is guilty of murdering her daughter. It is unforgiveable that a mother would wrap duct tape around a child’s mouth, murder her and toss her body in a garbage bag. The trail of evidence found at the scene leads right back to Casey and the Anthony home. Casey Anthony may lie but science does not. Science will show Caylee’s bones have been lying out in the wooded area since June after her body decomposed in Casey Anthony’s car trunk. Science will show that evidence found with the body came from the Anthony home. The “fictitious nanny kidnapped and killed Caylee” defense will be laughed out of court.

IM FROM NORTHEN CALIF AND HONETLY SAY I HAVE GRIEVED SINCE THE CASE BROKE. I HAVENT FELT THIS PAIN SINCE OJ AND NICHOLE. IM SO SORRY FOR GEORGE AND CINDY. IT MUST BE VERY HARD TO ACCEPT THE TRUTH OF WHAT THEIR DAUGHTER HAS TAKEN FROM THEM.

Tammy, that was probably the main motive for the murder. Casey wanted to take this beautiful little child from her parents, wanted to rob them of the joy they took in Caylee. Might it be that it was Casey’s revenge for the joy her parents never took in her when she was a small child? That possibility is very real…

so sad that this day would come in America or anywhere that a Mother would kill her child. Oh how i wish I had one. There is something wrong when you can take anothers life, even one of your own. Judgement will be fail for Caylee. and Hell will be hot for the Lawyers and others that cover for the murderer. God bless our childern. They belong to all of us and our responsibility to take care and protect them. Sorry Caylee we failed you. Mistery Person

Casey is obviously the one who murdered her daughter. She shed crocodile tears. And then smiled while she was under arrest. She will not be smiling when she goes to prison! How many people kill their own children? Sad fact is, there are many heartless people out there that do kill their children. God bless little Caylee. She did nothing to deserve being killed by her mother.

SHE SHOULD BE FRIED BECAUSE IF SHE WAS ANY OTHER RACE SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER THE JAIL THE FIRST DAY AND THE COURTS NEED TO TAKE IN COSIDERATION OF THIS IS A ANGEL THAT DIDN’T HAVE NO TIME TO SHINE AND LIVE A LIFE THAT SHE WAS PLESSED TO LIVE
