New York police are searching for 25-year-old Laura Garza who was seen leaving Marquee nightclub at 4am on Wednesday morning with two men.

According to investigators, Laura was last seen in a suburb 70 miles north of New York City with 23-year-old Michael Mele, who was put on the state sex offender registry in April when he was convicted of "forcible touching" and placed on 6-years' probation.

Police searched Mele's apartment, seized his SUV and conducted a helicopter search of the surrounding area. Investigators are treating the case as a possible homicide, but say they still are not giving up hope that Laura Garza is alive.

Mele has turned himself into police for a local law violation and was later charged for a probation violation.

Police say Mele is a person of interest, but has not been charged in the disappearance of Laura Garza.
