Make Secret Santa Exchanges Stress Free!

It seems like everyone is doing a Secret Santa exchange this year in order to avoid overspending and gift giving. Is it just us, or does it seem that these Secret Santa gift exchanges are a headache in themselves?

First you need to get everyone together to draw names, which is usually difficult and results in everyone's name being thrown in a hat and picking at random. After getting everyone together just to draw a name, you then have to plan another gathering just to exchange gifts. What's even worse is picking a name of someone you barely know and then having to guess what store they shop at, or music they listen to in order to avoid buying them a crappy gift.

Great news! There's a website that helps you avoid all of this. Check out Elfster.com. With Elfster, you can send out an invite to the people who want to participate in the Secret Santa gift exchange. Once everyone accepts the invite, Elfster randomly selects your Secret Santa for you. When you know who your person is, you can send them questions asking what they would like, or create a wish list yourself. It makes gift giving so simple and stress-free. Happy holidays!

Secret santas are the worst. Most people don’t really care. Especially the ones where you have to give a small gift each week and then the $20 gift. We have done Secret Santa every year and most do not enjoy it. It seems some give some thought to the gifts and they are always paired with cheapos. I am talking about years past, not the last couple of ones. (recession) Our company does very well. Most of the group make similar money so that is not the issue.
