One-Year-Old Girl is Pregnant

A one-year-old child has been found pregnant in Saudi Arabia. But she's no Juno. Check out the shocking X-ray photos.

A team of doctors traced the biological processes to find out how a baby girl could be pregnant. It turns out that the mother of the pregnant baby originally had two embryos, but one began to develop in the uterus of the other fetus. In other words, the baby girl is carrying her unborn twin.

Doctors are in consultations about the abortion to save the one-year-old.

About 51 similar incidents have been recorded in medical history, although the incidence rate is not high. The abnormality occurs in 1 in 500,000 live births.

In June, 1999, the case of Sanju Bhagat from India attracted attention. He had unknowingly carried his parasitic "twin" inside his body for 36 years.

Doctors were certain that the man had a gigantic tumor in his belly. However, they found fragments of human genitalia, hairs, limbs and jaws in the patient and finally removed a underdeveloped fetus that had legs and arms with long fingernails.

In 2002, Indian doctors found a six-month-old boy to have a fetus inside. The dead fetus, which surgeons removed from the boy, weighed one kilo, whereas the boy himself weighed 6.5 kilos.

One of the world's most bizarre medical conditions is known as fetus in fetu. It is an extremely rare abnormality that occurs when a fetus gets trapped inside its twin. The trapped fetus can survive as a parasite even past birth by forming an umbilical cordlike structure that leaches its twin's blood supply until it grows so large that it starts to harm the host, at which point doctors usually intervene.

A fetus in fetu can be considered alive, but only in the sense that its component tissues have not yet died or been eliminated. Thus, the life of a fetus in fetu is inherently limited to that of an invasive tumor.

Does this story freak you out as much as it freaks us out? Truly bizarre!

This is absolutely amazing. Just hope something is done before the baby gets any older. Babies heal so much easier and faster.

That’s so crazy! I can’t imagine carrying around an unborn Brother or Sister without even knowing it.

Okay all you Pro-Lifers… Come on, let’s hear it… THAT UNBORN BABY HAS THE RIGHT TO LIVE!!! RAWR!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Baahhhhhhhhhhhh HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA Eat it you religious zealots. This is one you can’t wiggle your way out of… Kill the fetus, or save the child? OBVIOUSLY God wanted the kid to have a baby, or it wouldn’t have happened, right? RIGHT? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Poor child. But when you get right down to it, humans in general are as parasitic as a tick. Just ask Mother Earth who we are all too quickly poisoning while we bleed dry.

To Lilbearlobo Honestly, I think we as humans overestimate our impact on earth. We are not deadly parasites destroying earth. We are more akin to a slight irration on earth’s left foot. Global warming, overfishing, pollution, and industrialization sound terrible, and they are; I’m not saying we shouldn’t try to eliminate these problems, primarily because they’re making OUR lives worse. But in the long run, we will live our couse, become extinct, and other life on earth will continue for however many millions of years. Global warming may cause certain species to become extinct, but it will allow others to come into existence. Pollution and cities are surprisingly temporary; there was a documentary on the History Channel that estimated that if all humanity suddenly disappeared, it would take only about 10,000 years for all traces of us to completely disappear as well: a drop in the proverbial bucket, when you consider how long earth has been around and will be around. In fact, our “destruction” of nature has already been outdone by nature itself countless times. There have been plenty of “natural” mass extinctions that have eliminated in excess of 90% of all life on earth, and every time, life has come back stronger and better adapted.

@Ghost: I think that this one would count as an extremely rare exception… It is not technically a pregnancy or an abortion, since the child is not that of the 1 year old - it is a fetus in fetu, which is more like a tumor. It just happened to be located in her uterus. Now that that’s out of the way, do you really think that 1 year old girls with fetus in fetu situations make it logically imperative for abortion to be legal for all? Really? You set up a straw man when you assume that most Pro-Lifers would rather have the mother and baby die than just the baby. In a case where a pregnancy really threatens a woman’s life, I think most pro-lifers would make an exception. However, seeing as this is EXTREMELY rare, it is not at all a valid argument for making abortion legal for each and every case… Just because you want to isn’t a good enough reason.

Christ, 8 comments and an argument ensues. It’s just gonna be a simple yet risky surgery. If it’s not growing too fast, they might leave it for a while. Unfortunately, the girl’s gonna be left with muscle damage most likely.
