Teacher Binds Black Girl's Hands For Slavery Lesson

Eileen Bernstein, a white New York social studies teacher, is under fire after tying the hands and feet of two black girls together during a class lesson on slavery.
The mother of one of the girls is outraged and is demanding the teacher be removed from the class. Eileen apologized to the mother and a representative of the NAACP, but the child's mother still feels the teacher should be removed because it will be uncomfortable for her child to return to that classroom.
Brian Monahan, the school superintendent said they encourage "teachers to deliver the curriculum in a variety of ways, to go beyond just reading the textbook...but this obviously went wrong because the student was upset."
The school had not decided what, if any, disciplinary action they would take against the teacher. The child's mother, Christine Shand, says she does not know if she'll take further action against the teacher and school, leaving open the possibility she'll file a lawsuit.
Teachers of today have gone dumb
Even my 4th and 5th grade math teacher is acting like a spoiled bratt
They need to be sent to training camps(ehem, i mean boot camps)
The questions arise:
What is the context?
Were there any white students in the class?
What were the exact words of the lecture she was giving?
Did the students volunteer?
Only one student and parent seem to be upset, so what abotu the other one?

dumb idea but totally overblown.
