Here's why your job may be more secure than your husband's.
There's no doubt about it -- today's economy is tough. But here's some enlightening news: The job market is better for women than it is for men.
The Labor Department says more men than women are out of work. According to the report, currently over 1 million fewer men are working, but the number of female workers has increased by 12,000. And in 2001, the number of employed men decreased by 900,000 while the number of employed women dropped by 700,000.
Experts say the reason for this gender divide is that the economy negatively affects male-oriented fields like finance and manufacturing, while women lean towards careers such as health care, which added almost half a million jobs in the last year.
Tell us -- is your job more stable then your husband's?
