Actress and activist Fran Drescher told New York magagazine she'd like to replace Hillary Clinton as junior Senator from New York.

Fran Drescher certainly sounds like a New Yorker, but does she have what it takes? She told New York Magazine, "I've just been given the appointment of U.S. diplomat ... My title is public diplomacy envoy for women's health issues, and I just got back from a four-country European tour of duty. I believe next I'll be sent to the Middle East ... I've been very successful in getting a bill passed in Washington. I was thinking I'd take the next four years to lay some groundwork, but I'm throwing my hat in the ring ... I'm an authentic and honest person. And I think Capitol Hill needs more of that."

If Hillary Clinton is confirmed as the next Secretary of State, New York Governor David Paterson will have to pick her replacement. John F. Kennedy's daughter Caroline Kennedy is rumored to be the shoe-in for the position. But who knows? Maybe there will be "Oooooohhhhh, Mr. Obaaaaaaaaaaaaaama!" in our future!
