The Scoop on Obama's Inauguration

His aides released the theme of the inauguration and the schedule of events. Plus Washington D.C. is changing one of their drinking laws for the four-day affair.
The swearing-in of the first black president is expected to draw millions of people to Washington in January. The capital city has even issued an "Emergency" bill that will allow restaurants with liquor licenses to serve food and booze for 24 hours a day from January 17th through the 21st.
The theme of the event will be "Renewing America's Promise" -- the same that was used for the Democratic party's national platform. President-elect Barack Obama said in a statement, "At this moment of great challenge and great change, renewing the promise of America begins with renewing the idea that in America, we rise or fall as one nation and one people."
Included in the schedule are traditons such as the oath of office on the steps of the capital, the balls and the parade to the White House. There will also be a service honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Obama's campaign wants to open the entire Nation Mall for the public to join in the festivities.
The actual inauguration of Barack Obama and Joe Biden will take place on January 20th. CHEERS! Source.
