Ok so their geeks because they wear glasses?? I don’t think so. I wear glasses and I’m not a geek in any way shape or form. I need them for distance. I don’t wear contacts because I can’t wear them to read or eat. It’s a heck of a lot easier to take my glasses off to eat a meal or read to my kid than it would be to pop out some contacts. Plus, I had them once and tore some tissue in my eye taking them out.

ashley, Relax. Not all of them have glasses and they are saying that it’s a good thing.

Sorry moms. If putting on a sports jersey doesn’t turn me into a football star, putting on a pair of glasses and a sweater doesn’t turn you into a geek. You’d actually need some brains, depth, non-TV interests, conversational abilities, and literacy to get into geekhood. That poor “ashley” thinks it’s bad to be a geek is proof enough that anti-intellectualism is still rampant, especially among females.
