Wasted Youth: Freshmen Girls Beware

What really goes on during a kids' first year of college? Momlogic investigates.

Yesterday in part one of our five-part series, "Wasted Youth: What Freshman Year in College is REALLY Like," we went behind closed doors at several college campuses to find out what happens when 18-year-olds leave home for the first time and head to college.

We thought it would be hard to get kids to open up about their dangerous and illegal antics -- but not only were students eager to share about their actions, most also seemed downright proud of them.

Today, in part two of our series, find out why freshmen girls are the MOST vulnerable of all.

Take a look:

What we found on campus was only the tip of the iceberg. We then surveyed over 2,500 college freshmen from around the country to get a real feel for what was happening in their daily lives.

The results are truly eye-opening. Check out the full results of our 2008 College Freshmen Survey.

Check back each day this week for the rest of our five-part series: "Wasted Youth: What Freshman Year in College is REALLY Like." Tomorrow and Thursday, our cameras follow a group of freshmen girls from party to party one night to document just what happens as they go from sober to wasted. On Friday, momlogic's experts will provide you with a step-by-step discussion guide on how to talk to your kids about the dangers of campus life.

Why aren’t these people being arrested? What they are doing is clearly illegal.

exactly why I didn’t go to a university it makes me literally sick to see it boys not being raised right a girls not standing up for themselves and being women so disheartening it makes me sick to my stomach to even think that my girls could be put in a situation like that

No, it’s another reason to raise your children right! Thats no reason to not have kids! Just because theres a few bad seeds put there doesnt mean give up on all of them all together. It’s better to know whats going on with them then to not know at all! It helps you prevent bad things from happening in the future. Children are a blessing and they’re human, they make mistakes too. What if your parents had said what you just said RMJ? Show some compassion, not ignorance!

Ok. These girls are obviously going to a ‘party’ school. I go to a university fairly similar to this one, it has frats and has a welcome week that is used for just parties but you learn to just say no. Let’s not pretend that they don’t know better. Yea, there is pressure to drink but it is so easy to just pretend to drink. Bring a bottle of colored water. Maybe this is a way to weed out the stupid one’s. Universities don’t need twits like these girls and boys enrolled there. If people are getting raped and roofied and these people not only still drink but GO to the frats responsible, they don’t deserve school! All freshman are not this bad, most of us are decent and have self control. So please, parents, don’t be scared to send your kids to college, unless you know they are this dumb.
