A 6-year-old boy brought a loaded .45-calliber handgun to school this week and it was not discovered by school officials until he was sent to the Principal's office during recess for having saggy pants.
The gun slipped down the boy's pant leg when a school clerk was helping him put on a belt. Police were called to the school and took possession of the gun. The boy said he took the .45-calliber from his father's car. Investigators say the gun was stolen during a robbery in November.
The boy's father, Michael Lewis, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm. The first-grader was expelled due to the schools zero-tolerance weapons policy and released to the custody of his mom.
