Victoria Lucas' mom gives us the inside scoop.
Following the same route that Abraham Lincoln rode 150 years ago, President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and Dr. Jill Biden made their way to the inauguration on a Whistle-Stop Train Tour that wove its way from Philadelphia through Delaware and Maryland on its way to Washington.
"To the children who hear the whistle of the train and dream of a better life -- that's who we're fighting for. That's who needs change," President Obama said at one stop along the way. "And those are the stories that we will gather with us to Washington."14-year-old Victoria Lucas from Dover, Delaware was lucky enough to be a part of the Whistle-Stop Train Tour along with her mother, father and 16-year-old brother, but had no idea she would be "booty bumpin'" with Obama on Inauguration Night!
Victoria's mom, Quincy Lucas, shared with us how this innocent dance all went down. "Because we were part of the Whistle-Stop Train tour, we were invited guests of the First Family at the Neighborhood Ball -- we knew we would be on stage, but had no idea how close we would be to President Obama and First Lady Michelle," she tells momlogic.
"I have to tell you, Victoria was jumping out of her skin when the president asked her to dance," she says. "She saw President Obama on 'Ellen' during the campaign and knew he could do the bump, so she said, 'Let's do the bump' and he joined in! Right before that, my 16-year-old son danced with First Lady Michelle Obama. It was a magical night!"
Quincy says she had to coax a resistant Victoria to wash her face the next morning, because "the president kissed her on her cheek, and she didn't want to wash it off," she explains. "She finally washed her face, but she told me she will never wear her dress again and she even wants to frame it!"
Too cute. What a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
