Anthony's P.I. Defends Himself

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Was Dominic Casey searching for the remains of Caylee Anthony? No, he tells momlogic.

dominic casey

As we reported yesterday, a disturbing tape of the Anthony's private investigator Dominic Casey has been making the media rounds. In the footage, recorded on November 15th, Dominic Casey rips open garbage bags and pokes at the earth with a metal prod mere yards from where Caylee's remains were eventually found on December 11 after a six-month search.

Many speculated that Dominic Casey had been tipped off to the location of Caylee's remains by Casey Anthony's family or lawyer.

"That's simply untrue," Dominic tells momlogic.

Instead, the P.I. insists he was merely following up on a statement made by one of Casey Anthony's childhood friends to police on August 12 (incidentally the same day Roy Kronk, the meter reader who eventually discovered Caylee's remains, made his second call to authorities about a suspicious bag -- but that's a whole other can of worms). Kiomarie Cruz, in her statement, makes a link between a shovel Casey borrowed and a location she and Casey used to frequent as teens. "Not a lot of people know about this spot unless you're a teenage kid," Cruz told investigators.

Based on Cruz's testimony, it would seem anyone checking out the location would be looking for the remains of a child. But Dominic says that wasn't his intent. "I was not looking for a dead body," says Dominic. "I was only there to confirm whether or not [the area] is a teen hangout." When asked how confirming that fact would help find Caylee, Dominic says it's standard procedure: "When you conduct an investigation, you go thorough a witness statement and make sure it is correct," he explains.

The most damning evidence to be gleaned from the video is the fact that Dominic is talking on his cell phone, presumably taking direction from someone in the Anthony camp. At one point, he says, "It would be right here."

Initially, it was reported that Dominic was speaking to his daughter. "I just said that flippantly," says Dominic, intent on setting the record straight. "I speak with her maybe 7 to 10 times a day. I was just saying [that] chances are I was talking to her, but I can't be sure."  Now psychic, Ginnette Matcia Lucas, claims she was speaking to Dominic. Examination of phone records are pending.

The mystery continues.

"Everyone's trying to spin this into something," laments Dominic. "There was nothing sinister about my search."

Through it all, Dominic remains steadfast in his belief that Casey Anthony is innocent. "I do not believe Casey Anthony had anything to do with her daughter's death," he concludes.

Lann, first of all there is only one blogger who is doubting the police and saying Casey is innocent. That blogger is Jodi. Second of all, now the body has been discovered and evidence shows Casey is the only person who could have killed Caylee, I am convinced that no one believes Casey Anthony is innocent. I am suspicious that Cindy and the defense team are blogging under fake names such as Jodi to try to cast reasonable doubt. The tape of Cindy’s PI digging through garbage at the site where her granddaughter’s body was found upset Cindy immensely because it shows Cindy and George knew Caylee was dead a month before her body was found. When Cindy is unmasked, she reacts by trying to change the subject and pointing the finger at someone else and saying the cops are lying and there is no evidence against Casey. Cindy tried to blame Caylee’s disappearance on Amy and Jesse. Now she is going to blame it on the meter reader. Cindy and the defense team all know Casey is guilty but their job is to plant reasonable doubt in the eyes of the jury. It won’t work so don’t respond to it.

Sally, Yes, I got that this “Jodi” was the only one posting in Casey’s defense. I was speaking in broader terms only because on other sites, there’s always someone who tries to paint Casey as a victim. I don’t really know if Cindy is the one blogging, but I wouldn’t doubt that she’s trolling all over the place. However, believe me, Casey Anthony has her fans and defenders. Thank you for your insight :D ~~Rest In peace dear Angel, Caylee~~

Lann, Cindy is the only person who would say there was no evidence against Casey and the police lie to the media and to get a conviction. Everyone else knows the state attorneys office has tons of evidence against Casey and even more evidence now that they found Caylee’s skull with duct tape on its mouth. As soon as they found the garbage bag containing Caylee’s remains, investigators got a search warrant and went directly to the Anthony home and hauled out sack fulls of evidence to match to the crime scene. Cindy has been claiming the cops have framed Casey from the day she was arrested. Cindy also repeatedly told the media the cops were lying to them. The state attorneys office believed it had enough evidence without the body for a first degree murder conviction. The body dismisses any reasonable doubt that Caylee is alive. Now Cindy can’t go around making up more phony sightings she has taken to the blogs with claims that there is no evidence against Casey.

This Dominic Casey dude is still staunchly in the Anthony camp with his outlandish statements that Casey Anthony is innocent of little Caylee’s death. Yeah, sure, the meter reader kept the body of the poor child In the trunk of Casey’s car, huh? The meter reader probably didn’t want to get involved for sure, if the statement that he used to be a bounty hunter, as mentioned above, is true. There’s a very good chance the elder Anthonys were convinced the baby was dead but carried on with the charade for as long as they could because they could collect good money for all their TV appearances - to be used later on to defend their property, their daughter Casey, in court.

Reading what jodi wrote I see that she is not saying Casey did not kill Caylee. She is pointing out how easily misled most people have been. The single hair found in the trunk is believed to be similar to Caylee but the eleged death ring is not confirmed and will not be claimed in court. Domonic Casey is rumaging through an area that was searched by equisearch including cdaver dogs. The PI is rechecking an area he believes has been cleared but searches because of many things including a psychic, a friend of Casey Anthony’s claim and the 3 calls from the meter reader. His point was to clear the area again so that when someone disposed the body near the Anthony home then he could prove it had been deposited there when Casey was in jail. Jodi’s point is Caylee goes missing in June when the meter reader is hired and not just any meter reader but one with 10 years experience as bounty hunter and a previous kidnapping charge and after 3 calls to police claims he himself did not get the bag but months later he “stumbles” across the bag and skull????? I agree with jodi in that unless they have Casey’s finger print on the duct tape, there is nothing to convict her on.

Everyone posting here has a similar read on the case: the Anthony family is hugely and probably pathologically dysfunctional; primarily Cindy as the dictator and ruler of “truths” permitted to be spoken about by Casey, George and Lee. This mess has been the family dynamic since the day they called themselves “family” I am sure. Denial and secret-keeping are key components of an abusive family. Casey broke free of Cindy to find sex and a pregnancy…but Cindy reeled her back in with promises and the creation o a new “Gorgeous Princess” in Caylee (even capturing George away from Casey) Why did Casey leave Jesse? she felt he liked Caylee more than her…? And Lee..he learned to go under cover and under Cindy’s radar early..conspiring with Casey in ways spoken of and hinted at in other blogs….lastly..George-how oddly he behaves around Cindy…from day one..in her shadow almost afraid to speak at all…he broke free of her and spoke honestly when he was with the cops alone…then she squelched him. I saw a picture of Lee, Cindy and George recently…Cindy has her hand on Lee’s bare thigh…it was creepy for a Mom and an adult son. This is long and I apologize, but I feel that poor beautiful child was set free and called to Peace. The world she was placed into would have hurt her in the long run.

I think that people need to quit spinning the obvious. Casey killed her child. Her parents, defense team are covering for her in every way they can. The PI digging around was meerily to help the defense team. They filmed on purpose to show that the body was not there a month ago. I do agree Caylee is in a much better place. This family needs to go down.

TME and Deon, I’m with you. The state attorney’s office would not have charged Casey Anthony with first degree murder without a body in October if they didn’t have any evidence and didn’t believe they could get a conviction. Now that the state has a body, I am convinced they have solid evidence to convict Casey and to file obstruction of justice charges against the PI, Cindy, George and Lee. Why else would they all be getting lawyers and crying for immunity and going to blogs trying to convince other bloggers the cops are liars and there is no evidence against Casey? The jury is going to look at the mountain of evidence and convict Casey and maybe her family also. All the renowned publicity seeking experts in the world can’t save her.

What makes me just as angry as the fact that she “allegedly” killed her daughter, is that she is causing an immense amount of damage to a lot of people around her. Tim Miller, the supposed babysitter, not to mention her family, and friends, the police officer that was reassigned, the attorneys that have come and gone… The list could go on and on. This officer had NOTHING to do with Casey Anthony, and now his career is in ruins because of her. This just seriously ticks me off. She’s like a tornado, the effects are immediate, but there are a ton of after effects that just keep coming and coming. THANKS CASEY!!!! We appreciate all your “help”!!!! (That was sarcasm, in case you didn’t catch that!!)

You’re right, Jess. There are others whose lives she has destroyed. The cop Anthony Ruscino who had an affair with Casey Anthony also was fired and now the defense and Cindy masquerading under names such as Jodi and Sean are trying to turn a good samaritan - the meter reader - into Caylee’s killer. It is so laughable that anyone with half a brain would believe anyone other than the pathological lying sociopath killed her daughter. She even gave clues as to where she dumped the body by naming her fictitious nanny names which the area was known as. Casey even told Lee in her jailhouse code that she did it alone, dumped the body in the daytime and was pinning it on someone else and that Caylee was “close to home” in an area familiar to the family, where a friend would know and where she had taken pictures for Cindy. No kidnapper is going to keep a live child “close to home” and in places where the family is familiar. It’s obvious she was talking about the remains site where she dumped Caylee’s body after it decomposed for two days in the back of her car trunk.

She’s guilty..and I think that the FBI has put a squash on how much stuff is getting released to the public… I just found a new article that says Lee may be getting IMMUNITY… they can lie and cover up…but the pot is heating up…. Seeking IMMUNITY?!?!!! They have to have a LOT of evidence that we are not hearing about… for a reason… Here’s a quicklink to the article on momlogic..[of course :) ] http://www.momlogic.com/2009/01/lee_anthony_immunity.php

jury wil be told that to convict you must believe that she is guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Then they will be told that reasonable doubt is if you can put the evidence you believe together in any way that would conclude she is not guilty then you must find her not guilty. Jodi is right, this girl will walk unless they have her finger print on the tape. AND if they had her finger print on the tape it would be released because it can’t be changed.

HOW ABOUT THIS TRICK??? If Lee gets criminal immunity and testifies from the stand that he had anything to do with the crime (he was supposed to watch Caylee and didn’t; he was supposed to pick her up from Casey’s car and forgot…..blah blah)WELL GUESS WHAT??? His story puts doubt in the jury minds about Casey’s actions AND he can’t be prosecuted (Immunity) AND CASEY GOES FREE…..talk about a scheme from the CREEPY LYING ANTHONY’s—poor Caylee—poor sad lucky child to escape these people…..

Casey is not going to go free. There is no reasonable doubt. Her behavior convicts her. She googled neckbreaking, household weapons, chloroform, missing child sites a month or more before Caylee disappeared, when her child goes missing she doesn’t tell a soul, rents movies, parties, dances on a pole and sleeps with her boyfriend for 30 days before her mother finds her car smelling like a dead body and tracks her down and demands to see Caylee and calls 911. When questioned a month after her daughter is missing, Casey lies to the police about the date Caylee disappeared, where she works, the name and addresses of a nanny that does not exist stealing Caylee and that a happy healthy Caylee called her the day before. After she is arrested, all she does is throw a tantrum every time someone asks her questions about Caylee. Cadaver dogs, five witnesses including her family members smelled a dead body in Casey’s car trunk. FBI tests confirmed there was a dead body in the trunk and DNA evidence that the dead body was Caylee’s. Casey had told her brother and friend Amy the car smelled like death before she abandoned it telling different stories about dead squirrels. So there is no reasonable doubt Caylee’s dead body was in that car trunk when she was driving it. Caylee’s skull and bones shows up in a black plastic bag with evidence tying the remains scene back to the Anthony house. That remains area was where Casey buried her hamster and hung out with friends. Adjacent land was also owned by people with the same names as she named her fictitious nanny who kidnapped Caylee. She also told her brother Lee in code where he could find the body. I had no reasonable doubt the first time I saw Casey Anthony in court July 16 when she was first arrested for lying to police officers. As soon as the homicide officer testified he and his cadaver dog smelled a dead body in the car trunk and the investigators testified Ms. Anthony had lied to them about everything she told them I knew she was guilty as sin. Anyone who believes there is reasonable doubt is either Casey’s family members or the defense team just trying to get her off. Even her friends know she is guilty and are testifying against her, taking Caylee’s side over her.

TME, the doubt has to be reasonable. If Lee Anthony takes the blame, jury members have to look at that and see if it is reasonable to believe that her big brother would lie for her to get her off or if he could have done it when police had evidence that Lee hadn’t seen Caylee for weeks. The defense team could point the finger at Jesse, Amy or the meter reader but it is not reasonable that they would have had motive, opportunity or means to murder Caylee. The only reasonable conclusion is that Casey pre-meditated her daughter’s murder because her boyfriend wanted boys instead of girls, Caylee stood in the way of her freedom to party and have sex whenever she wished and the way to punish Cindy for getting physical with her for stealing from her grandmother was to kill Caylee.

Sally, thanks. My comments were fueled by what seems to be a tremendously dysfunctional family and probably socio- or psychopathic personality types in the Anthony clan. I was thinking that sacrificing “Lee” to redeem Casey (for this crime and who knows what other “sins” he or Casey have engaged in)just fits in so nicely with the other lies and manipulations we have been treated to so far….I hope not for Caylee’s justice and pray for the wisdom of the jurors and those prosecuting this case. We don’t need another OJ travesty to characterize our justicwe system.

Jodi, Sean and Sarah, I would venture to guess that you are either from the Anthony camp or you have spent time in jail yourself because those seem to be the only people who defend Casey Anthony and hate law enforcement and the media. You are kidding yourself if you think people are influenced by Nancy Grace. The bloggers here use intellect and logic to follow facts and evidence and are able to come to their own conclusion as to who murdered Caylee. As you can tell all, but the three of you, agree that facts and evidence point directly at Casey Anthony as being the sole killer of her daughter, regardless of you trying to put a spin on everything. Jodi, your 01/14/09 02:21 PM post sounds like you’re BEGGING potential jurors to disregard the police and all the facts and evidence just so that a murderer can go free. Jodi, it’s not going to happen and I doubt very much if you would qualify to sit on the jury. I’m not going to list all the damaging facts and evidence that paints a clear picture of Casey’s guilt because all the intelligent bloggers have already done a terrific job of that many times over. I just want to add that Casey has also become the ‘liar of the century’ and her parents are two of the very few who believe her lies… Talk about a low IQ. Now, to get on topic, as far as the Anthony’s P.I. guy goes… his phony, conflicting story is as farfetched as Jodi, Sean and Sara’s comments. My comment was not meant to hurt or attack anyone it was simply meant to give my opinion in response to a few earlier comments made on this wonderful ‘momlogic’ blog!

Saying there is no evidence against Casey Anthony is like saying there is no water in the Pacific Ocean. Only family members or defense team members wanting to get Casey Anthony off would say anything that ridiculous.
