Was Caylee Anthony a Child of Incest?

Friday, January 9, 2009

Some believe Caylee Anthony was a product of incest. Could it be possible, or are people just grasping at straws to make sense of a senseless crime?

Casey Anthony and Lee Anthony
There is so much of the Casey Anthony case that doesn't compute. Sadly, there's is only one thing we know for sure: Caylee Marie Anthony is dead. It's not even clear who her father was. If you believe anything the Anthony family says, you might buy that Caylee's biological father was killed in a car crash a year after she was born.

Or, if you're one of the many people following the case, you might believe that little Caylee was actually the product of an incestuous relationship between Casey and her brother Lee. One clue of the illicit sibling coupling, says believers, is that "Caylee" is a hybrid of names Casey and Lee. Hmm. For some, this Casey-Lee incest could unravel more than a few mysteries.

"As for the incest story ... it sure would explain a lot of Casey's behavior, the lies for one," writes one armchair detective on a Casey Anthony message board. "Her sociopathic behavior. And why Cindy is going to such lengths to protect her. Denial would have been something Cindy's been used to dealing with, denying her children are having sex."

The hypothesis doesn't come out of nowhere. Jesse Grund, Casey's former fiance, told investigators that Casey once mentioned receiving unwanted advances from her brother:

jesse-grund.jpg

Is it possible that the breakdown of the Anthony family unit is due to a child conceived by two siblings, and a grandmother hellbent on raising the child as her own? Even though it's been speculated that Lee himself is involved in aiding and abetting his sister, incest still seems pretty far-fetched; more like the imaginative musings of conspiracy theorists rather than actual reality.

But incest is more prevalent than any of us would like to believe. In fact, 10-15% of the general population have had a least one incestuous experience. say sources, but less than 2% involve intercourse or attempted intercourse.

According to Dr. Charles Sophy, Medical Director for the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, sexual relationships between siblings start early in 70-90% of cases. "Sexual contact would be initiated somewhere before adulthood," he says.

Kids, after all, will be kids. And kids are curious. "There is an appropriate range of inquisitiveness," explains Dr. Sophy,  "but there's a fine line to when it becomes an ingrained pattern of behavior." At that point, a parent might want to bring in an expert to assess the situation, suggests Dr. Sophy.

When presented with the scenario that Cindy Anthony forced Casey to have the offspring of an incestuous relationship, Dr. Sophy seems to think it's at least plausible. "These are disturbed families that don't make judgments on solid ground," he says. "They don't get genetic counseling. By allowing their children to have children, they don't understand incest's biological and social impacts."

One of those impacts that's generally assumed is automatic genetic abnormalities. But if Caylee was indeed conceived from an incestuous relationship between Lee and Casey, "it's not a guarantee that the brother and sister are going to have a retarded child," Dr. Sophy says.

All of this speculation seems moot with DNA technology available. Have investigators looked into the possibility that Lee is the father of Caylee? We asked Carlos Padilla of the Orange County Sheriff's Office. "They did get DNA from him [Lee] but I don't know what it was for,"  says Padilla. When asked to confirm or deny the incest rumors, Padilla tells momlogic: "I can't say [the incest rumor]  is true or I can't say it's not true. We've never approached that subject, but many, many people have called us with that suggestion."

Victims of incest are no more likely to become sociopathic killers than redheads or anorexics. If true (and I don’t believe it is), it explains nothing, it illuminates nothing. Psychopaths are born, and life events will exacerbate their bad behavior. I agree with SanSmith. Casey made up stories strictly for amusement. Too bad Mark Geragos isn’t her attorney; I was looking forward to hearing how the aliens killed Caylee. I am sure even Casey would have been envious of that one.

the title to this article was enough for me to comment on the insanity of the writer. to actually read the comments of the steppford wife-like followers to this blog would drop me to the smut level that you all like spoon fed like mindless drones. i would pray for you, but there is no god.

Incest? What evidence exists for that? That Casey once said her bro. made advances to her? I can’t follow that kind of thinking. Everyone here knows Casey Anthony lies. Despite the proof that she’s lying, she insists she is telling the truth. Why even believe her that her brother made advances towards her? There’s no basis to believe ANYTHING she says. Enough evidence has come forth to lead some of us to believe she’s guilty of the death of her daughter. To indulge in guesswork as to who is the father of Caylee Anthony is pointless. We don’t know, and what right do we have to suspect Lee?

It is so sad to think this baby had to live in a sick family. If Lee is the father that might be why Baez continues to state the truth has not been told and once Casey tells her part of the story everyone will understand. Just wait and see what the bombshell will be. I only wish they would lay the body to rest. This child does not deserve to stay in a cardboard box at a morgue.

BS…they did a DNA testing on Caylee’s bones. the DNA string shows if the child was conceived by 2 people related to 1 another. if Caylee was the product of incest, the medical examiners would’ve known

Didn’t anyone notice that they said there was “decomp on the end of the hair in the trunk” Well this would lead you to beleave there is some dna on there too. The results said they could not determine weather it was caylee or casey’s hair. Sound a little odd to anyone else? Only one of them is dead. There are a lot of inconsistencies all together. Has anyone ever wondered if maybe the parents were trying to keep something secret that casey was going to reveal? That maybe they had more to do with it. since they fought before she left? I just have never felt right about those people. I mean her very best friends even had no idea who the daddy might be. I just think the police/prosecution would make a point not to reveal that, and that is why they are trying to restrict so much being turned over to the defense. It would make people have more sympathy for casey if she had that happen to her.

I can understand where this concept that Caylee could be the product of an incestuous relationship could be a distinct possibility. I, too, find it odd that the father was never named, even if he did die in an auto accident. I also think that if this were found to be true, that Lee is the father, it could explain alot about Casey’s behavior after the death of Caylee. If Caylee was the product of an incestuous rape, I could see where Casey would have looked at her child with shame and anger. The murder of her child could have been her way of wiping that incident out of her life forever. It would also make sense of the hostility between Casey and Cindy, considering that Cindy basically forced Casey to keep the child (thus making her have to relive this nightmare every day). Maybe, though, George and Cindy were not aware of what happened and maybe Casey told them what she did because she figured they would not believe the truth. What I would be curious to know is did Casey’s lies and “party girl” behavior surface before the pregnancy or after? Then, again, I have my own theory as to what happened, and I do not feel incest had anything to do with it. I think it is clear that Casey loved to go out and party and that having a child was not going to stand in her way. I believe that Casey had “successfully” used chloroform and duct tape on Caylee when going out to the club on a few occasions (the duct tape being put in place in case the child woke up, so she could not scream), but I think that on this one occasion, she got really drunk/high and slept it off the next day while Caylee lay dead from suffocation in the Florida heat in the trunk of her car. I do think that she panicked and drove around with her for a couple of days, not being sure what to do and finally decided to dump the body. I believe that when Casey told her family what had happened, Cindy Anthony made that first 911 call. I believe that when she called them, she had intended on telling them the truth. I am not sure how or why, but before the officers arrived, I think that they had decided they were

Very stressful circumstances can turn anyone into a nut case. I’m not so healthy myself, with my own marvelous background of two shell-shocked escapees from family tragedy, and Communist horrors, as parents. Traumatized individuals do not nurturing parents make, I can tell you that much for sure. At one point in my life I used to volunteer as a hairdresser for the patients of a psychiatric facility. Us volunteers were given a handout, telling us to be respectful of the patients, not ask them personal questions, and if they chose to divulge any of their problems, to keep the information confidential. One line from those instructions has always stuck in my mind: “every personality, even the strongest, has a breaking point!” I firmly believe Casey would never have killed her baby if she had not been extremely traumatized in some shape or form. Not being protected from the unwanted attentions of her father, and/or brother, and not being believed by her mother when she told her about it, would have resulted in incredible hurt and rage.

The sickness in this family is pervasive and the final proof of how “off” George and Cindy Anthony are is the fact, mentioned by many commenters, that they are allowing their precious baby granddaughter’s bones to remain in a cardboard box in a morgue, unburied. Something is deeply, deeply wrong with parents betraying their most vulnerable family member to protect another. As a parent, I can well understand the impulse to protect our children but when our children MURDER and the victim is ALSO our child, or worse, our grandchild, then justice for the weaker member must be served. But in this family, preying on weakness is a reflex, maybe even a talent. The Anthonys are ghouls. And yes, I have no doubt that Caylee is the result of incest. I just cannot decide whether it was Casey’s father or brother who got to screw her. Hey, maybe both did. Casey Anthony will never see the light of freedom in this lifetime. She and her sarcastic, self-involved, lying, thieving, whoring lifestyle is OVER. Her stupid, narcissistic and irritating mother Cindy can spend the rest of her natural life wondering what responsibility she played in this tragic American gothic horror story. And as for the Anthony men, to quote Casey, “huge waste.”

I, too, have pondered the ver trange affect and relationship behaviors of George and Cindy..to each other…to Casey and to Lee as well as Caylee. Cindy appears as a dominatrix, early on it was her odd affect and words that made me think she was drugged or impaired. George seems repressed and controlled by Cindy, almost fearful to say or do something to displease her. I wondered about their marriage and histroy together and as a family. Caylee seemed to be paraded about with a Jon Benet type smile after the Jesse and Grund family was eradicated from Caylee’s life. Her eyes appeared fearful and anxiuos on Grandpa’s lap in the home….Lee and Casey MUST have banded together as children against the cold Mom. Casey may have found early comfort from secret warmth and affection from George, Lee and Old Gramps..finding physical intimacy powerful, something Cindy couldn’t take away. In a study of emotional and psychological incest you hear the language and “girlfriend type” names that George and Lee direct to Casey. Also for Casey to describe Caylee as “captivating” is odd to me for a child…something is rotten behind the scenes there for a long time and Caylee paid the price.

i read somewhere else too that the father george had made unwanted sexual advances to her. cannot remember where i read this. this would definitely explain casey’s promiscuity! and if the brother used to see the father touch casey or constantly call her “gorgeous” (remember the jailhouse video..he calls her that and cindy winces), then lee thought that behavior was fine and started doing it too only he took it farther and they actually had sex (when casey was drunk? stoned?) and conceived CAY-LEE. dada! i substitute taught and there was a boy in the class who had no abnormalities at all except he was super hyperactive (like caylee seemed to be) and his parents were brother and sister. another teacher told me this secret which she shouldn’t have done. they don’t always have mutations or anything. i think casey was molested for a long time by her father and lee watched it and followed suit and casey is very disturbed and maybe that’s the reason she doesn’t know right from wrong or doesn’t care. cause she was being “wronged” for a long time and noone ever stepped in to do anything about it including her mother. that’s why cindy is forgiving. she knew about the molestation/incest and did nothing about it. or maybe that’s why george and cindy almost divorced?

I have thought for a long time now that Lee was the Father which would explain his strange behavior. In the beginning he was Mr. Nice Guy in front of the cameras and that soon turned. Lee became very volitile to everyone even the police, all this was about the time he refused the DNA test in the beginning. Then he goes missing for a long period of time without any word from him at all, now he’s back in the picture after Caylee’s been found even moved back into George & Cindy’s home w/out his girlfriend, Mallory. Wonder what she knows?? There are many things that lead me to beleive he’s the father but even if he’s not his behavior has been odd to say the least.

I come from a family where there was incest. My older half brother was a “product” of it. He was more handsome than a movie star and perfect in every way. Sadly, however, the entire family suffered from terrible shame and we didn’t even understand why (because my Mother would not come clean about it..of course). I recognized ALL the signs of the same dynamics instantly in this family. I am VERY certain that Caylee is a product of incest. It will come out…(By the way..my half brother never felt comfortable in life his entire life..and he took his own life at age 50).

Cee, I do agree with what you see in the family. It is rather classic in what we have been able to watch so far. George’s names for Casey (“Beautiful “Sweetie/Sweetheart” “Gorgeous” and more) are strange and emotionally or sexully explicit, not exhibiting a traditional father daughter relationship, when the “grandaughter(?daughter) is murdered as well and she is the suspect. I have NEVER seen Cindy express or exhibit emotional connection to George….it seems as though they compete for Casey’s smiles and bestowing them with a response tom their groveling to her. And Lee..wow…no doubt at all their is an incest relationship between him and Casey…none. That Casey became on e powerful family king pin…she must have the “secrets and shame ” of each one of them held over their heads. Caylee was a trophy…a pawn.
