In the Casey Anthony case, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla has proven he craves the spotlight. But is his theory on how Caylee's remains were found on the money?

Most people following the Casey Anthony case think bounty hunter Leonard Padilla is a fame seeker and a glory hound -- and that's putting it nicely. The controversial reality show "celebrity" has inserted himself into the case by posting Casey's bail in August and has landed himself a regular gig on CNN's "Nancy Grace" show. Grace and Padilla make very likely bedfellows -- both enjoy spinning tales and analyzing minutiae in the Anthony saga, fueling armchair detectives in a case that has taken over public interest where O.J. left off.

Most of Padilla's theories have been misguided at best. When he claimed he had located the remains of Caylee back in November -- and in reality had only brought up pebbles and an old toy -- you'd think he would have slunk off, tail between his legs.

But not Padilla.

He's still supplying endless sound bytes for the case and his latest theory seems almost plausible. Padilla believes Casey's brother Lee Anthony knew where Caylee's remains were and perhaps, gathering the information from Casey in secret messages during their jailhouse visits, fed the tips to Roy Kronk, the utility worker who visited the area three times in August and finally discovered the remains on December 11th.

"[Lee's] situation is there's a daisy chain that extends from Casey all the way to the meter reader Kronk. They're trying to fill in the spaces as to who carried the message where the body was so that the meter reader could find it after the fourth try," says Padilla.

The remains were eventually found in a place called "The Zone," a childhood hangout of Casey's that was known to the entire Anthony family. In his July visit with his sister, Lee asks where to search for Caylee. Casey responds, "Check places locally Lee, in all honesty, places that are familiar to us, to our family."

OMG, I 100% think that Casey is telling Lee, in code, where the body is. Matter of fact, I found your blog looking to find out if others thought the same think. I think that the talk about the neighbor hood and family places is totally about where Caylee was stashed. In addition, I think that someone paid Roy Kromp to provide reasonable doubt in this case, and I think that because he was the one who disclosed his kiddnapping charge that was dropped. It’s the only logical reason that I can think of as to why he would disclose something that he had sealed and expunged from his criminal record. Not to mention the fact that we found out today that the house that the PI went to BEFORE he went to the woods looking was previously owned by someone with the last name Gonzales and had been abandoned. It’s a hair, nasty, tangled, web of lies, and no wonder Casey’s that way—it must be genetic. A family of pathological liars and psychos.

i have thought from the very beginning that caylee was a product of incest since her father has never been identified.(almost secretive) the more i have watched the exchanged conversations between lee and caysey the more i think lee could very well be the father of caylee. i also believe that lee and casey are talking in code. some of lee’s questioning is very bizzare. and the questioning from george, who if i am not mistaken was a homicide detective for ten years, seems less specific.

I agree with the comment about the duct tape being used as a “ruse” to make it appear that Caylee was abducted. I think the poor little child was dead when the tape was put around her head. I believe that Casey enjoys the spotlight, even if it is negative. She now has her parents all to herself. I agree with LP that the cop should not be disclipined, because when the meter reader talked with him, they had received 1000’s of tips that were all ridiculous……..cops are human too…….I am glad that the meter reader was persistant in calling authorities because had he not been, little Casey may have never been found. He doesn’t have anything criminally to do with this because if he did, he would have not kept calling 911………just like Cindy kept calling 911……..because she knew all along that it was not good………now she is just another “fruitcake”……She has raised a monster…..and is trying to make lemonade out of the lemon she had 22 years ago……I hope Casey is found guilty, because when you are the last one seen with another person and they turn up dead………..you are guilty…..the poor little child didn’t have a chance……..partying was more important to her……….my son’s birthday was June 20th……that is when she was partying the most……..instead of planning for her child’s 3rd birthday party, she was spending OPM…..(other people’s money) and getting her nails done & tatting herself…….they should give her a new tattoo in jail……666

Jesse Grund provided the Caylee’s DNA to the police…….he had the results of the paternity test…….when he found out that he was NOT the bio dad……You can read all of their interviews on line in the discovery docs…….he gladly turned it over to police……..so that is how they could REALLY determine that it was little Caylee’s body that was found………Casey is a moron………she thought she could get by with this……..she thinks she is intelligent……..she’s a loser……..She has lost her life allright………and its nobody’s fault but her own.

I don’t know if anyone every said, Was there shoes found with the remains of Caylee? See I thought she somehow drowned and if there was no shoes that might be a clue.

Please stop with the incest comments. Please stop trashing the Granparents I just read that George Anthony wants to kill himslef to be with Caylee. This case is sad and sick enough without making up stupid lies. May the Grandparents find peace and may Caylee rest in peace. Casey will rot in jail where she belongs mark my words!!!!

On the surface, the speculation that Lee is Caylee’s dad seems plausible. But what doesn’t make sense to me about that theory is I would think the IMMEDIATE family would have been MORE protective of Caylee due to Casey’s irrational/irresponsible/abusive behavior; Lee seems to be the one most able to be patient/calm/reason with Casey, as only a sibling can, and if Caylee were truly Lee’s daughter, I think he/they would have done more for Caylee; I certainly hope neither Lee nor George are Caylee’s daddy.

I am curious as to how she paid this “nanny”. I am sure it was cash. As she had no income I am sure there was no nanny. The use of the word Nanny has seemed strange to me since day one. Definition of a “NANNY” A nanny or childminder is a person who looks after the child or children of another family. Childminding differs from nannying in that a nanny goes to the house of the child in order to care for it; childminders look after the child in the childminder’s home. Modern nannies may live in or out, like other domestic workers, depending on their circumstances and those of their employers. The traditional nanny was a servant in a large household and reported directly to the lady of the house. A governess, in contrast to a nanny, concentrated on teaching and training children.

I find it extremely sad that there is even one person in this world who beleives that Casey Anthony is innocent. She is a sick individual who should get death row. That little girl never had a chance from day one. No One cared enough to Ask the tough questions. I also believe the police could have done better. This precious lamb of God’s is finally at peace. Praise God!!

If you watch the news showing recent video of Casey Anthony and her attorney. It’s very obvious that she is controlling her attorney. She sits there with her hair up wearing a gray suit, and abruptly reaches across and just grabs a pen from her attorney’s hand. They say that her attorney has already been warned in the court room for repeatedly touching Casey. I believe there is something more to them other than the normal attorney-client relationship. Next thing you know, she will get pregnant by her defense attorney and ultimately she will have grounds to appeal her case for claims of MISREPRESENTATION. This entire case has been nothing more than a Circus Act…that resulted in a innocent child’s death.

Guarantee that Casey Anthony and Leonard Padilla have slept together. As soon as he bailed her oout the 1st time, they started sleeping with each other. Then he revoked her bail when she probably started rejecting him because he is so gross. He knew from the beginning just like we all have, that she killed that poor child and that she is a sex-craved sociopath. Padilla knew this and used it. Padilla is trying to throw people, justice and the authorities off of Casy’s trail by confusing everyone. It’s so obvious.

I THINK THAT THE NEWS SHOULD NOT SHOW THE PICTURES OF CASEY THE ONLY ONES OF HER THEY SHOULD SHOW ARE THE ONE OF HER WITH THE HELP FIND CAYLEE SHIRT ON.THAT PICTURE MAKES ME SICK. SHE IS ALL SO WORRIED ABOUT HER MAKEUP AND HER CLOTHES AND HOW SHE LOOKS. AND I DO BELIEVE THAT LEE IS THE FATHER..

Casey anthony does not even seem like she misses her daughter.Everyday shes in court shes smiling like everything is ok.If casey really loves cayle as she says dont you think she would work with yall more.ITS LIKE CASEY BELIEVES HER ON LIES THAT SHES GIVING YALL.Mabey yall will prove her guilty.

Does anyone recall Lee calling Casey DARLING during one of their jailhouse interviews? I can’t get that out of my mind. I thought it was so odd, coming from a brother to a sister, but not if he and she have had a relationship unlike the typical brother/sister one. I believe Nancy Grace grandstands and hotdogs more than anyone I’ve ever watched, in or out of the media. She is disgracefully phony. I’m surprised anyone actually believes her sincerity. There are children born to brother/sister relationships that are fine mentally and physically. I doubt that it happens often, but it does happen.

Using “Darling” to a sister isn’t all that unusual. I know lots of men who call all women “Darling” even if the woman is quite a bit older than them or related to them. That doesn’t prove incest. I don’t even think the family knows the truth regarding the circumstances of Caylee’s death. Like the rest of us, they’ve heard so many lies from Casey that they don’t know what to believe. Their hearts are telling them to believe her because how could anybody in the family commit murder anyhow. It’s so much easier to believe that a stranger could do this than not and Casey probably will never come clean with them.

What kidnapping charges did Roy Kromp have expunged? It makes a lot of sense to me that Lee may be the father,it seems the entire family wants to avoid any questions about that subject. Pat

i believe casey anthony did drug her baby … it’s pretty much the new way for some sick mom’s today to drug their babbies so mom can go bar hopping. zanny the nanny is really zannex a strong sleeping drug… her brother if you noticed was laughing at that name . he knew what his sister meant. i’ve heard that cough syrup is also used as a baby sitter… what a thing to do to your child… plus cindy anthony got into a fight on the 16th using the f word on her own mother & father !!!who ‘was trying to help their ungreatful self centerd bratt !… now how maney other sick mom’s are doing that ?… if you know tell some one before another sweet baby is killed by the hands of a mother they trusted?.
