The outraged public demands a novelty toy maker stop selling Caylee Sunshine dolls -- so he just changes the name.

The backlash against the creator of a Caylee Anthony Sunshine doll wasn't enough to stop the owner of Showbiz Promotions from marketing the dolls... he simply changed the name.

"We polled school children, and they picked their favorite name for the dolls," says Jaime Salcedo -- the owner of Showbiz Promotions, the company that also brought you the Michael Vick chew toy.

Apparently, this "study" was put together quickly -- conducted just yesterday, in fact. The names chosen by the local school children? Sally, Hope, and Gracie.

Salcedo also claims he still has many requests for the Caylee doll but has told people they were discontinued. He insists 100% percent of the profits will go to National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, but is quick to point out that "they have not sponsored or partnered with us. That would be unethical."

(And what would HE know about being unethical?)

Although the dolls have changed names, the CayleeDoll.com website hasn't. It's still called a Caylee Tribute Site. The only discernible difference between the Caylee doll and the Hope, Gracie, and Sally dolls are the names on the dolls' T-shirts. The "new" dolls still sing "You Are My Sunshine," the same song Caylee sings in that heart-breaking video in her kitchen."That song is not owned by Caylee," Salcedo callously insists. "My mother used to sing that when I used to go to bed."

Oh, that makes it ALL okay!

The past 48 hours has netted Showbiz Promotions 500 angry emails -- mostly fueled,  says Salcedo, by Nancy Grace, who slammed the entrepreneur on her show. But even Salcedo has his limits on what he considers poor taste. His reaction to the Casey Anthony voodoo doll currently for sale on eBay? "This whole case is being tried by the media," he says. "They should just wait until the outcome in court."

• In other Casey Anthony news, Anthony's defense team is going after the prosecutors in her murder trial. Jose Baez filed an emergency motion late Tuesday. In it, he claims the prosecution is violating Casey's 6th Amendment right to counsel of her choice. Baez bases his motion on the fact that someone with the State Attorney's Office recently complained to the Florida Bar about him. Baez claims prosecutors are trying to taint him and are interfering with Casey's defense. Baez says the state attorney's complaint was egregious and prejudicial. He wants to put prosecutors on the stand to explain themselves. A legal analyst told Orlando station WFTV that's not likely to happen. Stay tuned.
