Stars See Red Carpet

This time last year, Hollywood was crippled by the writers strike and the red carpets were rolled up at the annual award shows.

The Golden Globes ceremony was reduced to a mere press conference last year where the winners were announced. But this year, producers promise to make up for the lackluster show. While we didn't have to suffer through the tediously long telecast, we did miss seeing some of our favorite celebs throwing back a few at the pre-show dinner party. Mixing booze and award acceptance speeches always guarantees a few good laughs.

This year, nominees include the late Heath Ledger for best supporting actor, Angelina Jolie for "Changeling", Brad Pitt for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"; Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet for their reunion film, "Revolutionary Road"; and Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. for "Tropic Thunder".

"Frost/Nixon," "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and "Doubt" lead their field with five nominations each.

The 66th annual Globes ceremony airs tonight on NBC at 8pm est.
