Herrera: Long Hair Over 40 is a Fashion Don't

There is no question that designer Carolina Herrera makes gorgeous clothes. Her classically chic, yet sexy designs are a favorite of celebrities like Renee Zellweger, Eva Longoria and Mariska Hargitay. Now although we agree that her dresses are indeed to die for, we respectfully disagree with Mrs. Herrera about one of her recent fashion statements.

When recently asked about her favorite fashion do's and don'ts -- Carolina said long hair on women over 40 is a fashion faux pas. She claims that at that age, long hair looks messy on women and they need to learn to age gracefully.

What do you think? Is Carolina Herrera right? Do women over 40 need to chop off their long hair?

All the men I know prefer a confident, sexy woman who can wear their hair to the floor or buzzed strait off. Hair doesn’t make a person. I feel sorry for the lady in your life, if you have one. For the record, I don’t have short hair but I have in the past and honey I can rock any hair style I want and still drive my husband wild. A neighbor lady was never prettier when she shaved her head in support of her mother diagnosed with cancer. I’m sure some short minded loser tried to make her feel lousy though, there’s one in every crowd. Ladies, do what you want with YOUR hair. Chop it off in a new funky do in the summer to keep it off your neck then grow it out through the fall and winter if you’d like. COlor it purple or jet black, maybe even blonde next week to see if it’s more fun. ;) It is by the way, lol. ;) I won;t be forty for a while but if the mood strikes me I’ll have a mullet when the time comes and I’ll look fabulous. Well, maybe not a mullet…..but I know most of you get me. Sorry Charlie, you could be a GQ model for all I know but just reading your post makes you ugly.

It depends on the hair but if a woman wants to keep her long hair forever DYE IT, there is nothing uglier than long gray hair. I’m talking long down the back. UGH.

ASK THE MEN !!!!!!…..I can still sit on my hair an i’m 58…size 6 and very busy still happily dating. All not most but ALL men prefer long hair as long as its healthy and clean, so dont be so dam practical ladies, remember your femininity and grow it !!!!!

I disagree with Carolina Herrera. She keeps her hair short and that is her. It is her hair, her face, her lifestyle, her aging process, and her very own preference. But to say that it is a cardinal rule to every women over 40 is short-sighted.
