The plastic surgeon who operated on Kanye West's mother before she died has been sentenced to a year in jail for drunken driving.

The AP reports Dr. Jan Adams pleaded no contest to misdemeanor drunken driving last year. In June of last year cops say they spotted the doc's Jaguar driving the wrong way down a northern California highway. When they pulled him over, Adams' blood alcohol level was .20 percent -- nearly three times the legal limit.

A judge sentenced the 54-year-old surgeon, author and TV personality at a court hearing today. He'll get credit for eight days he previously was jailed.

Adams performed a breast reduction, tummy tuck and liposuction on Donda West a day before she died in 2007. An autopsy determined heart disease combined with complications from the surgery caused her death.
