A 66-year-old British man recently made the decision to become a woman, making him the oldest in the country to have the surgery.

Michael Mason was a married father of four with 11 grandchildren when he made the transformation to become Michelle.

Michelle says that she knew that she was different from the time she was 4-years-old.

"I had a fascination with girls' clothes and I cried when my mum dressed me for school because I wanted to wear a gym slip like the girls," she said. "At primary school I always hung around with the girls, that was how I liked it but when I was sent to an all-boys grammar school things had to change."

The surgery ended Michelle's marriage. She is now in love with a former Conservative Party chairman. "He is my rock and the love of my life and I hope that by this time next year we will be living together," she said.
