Honey Saves a Man's Leg From Amputation

An ancient healing remedy helped save a man from losing his right leg.

Franklin Lloyd, 68, nearly had his leg amputated due to a stubborn wound. A clinical nurse suggested that he try using medihoney, a honey-based medical product.

Within a month Lloyd's knee had almost completely healed.

He had also had a kidney transplant years prior and had worries that aggressive treatments for his leg would cause complications.

"The fear was that I'd have to trade my leg for the kidney," he said.
