Free Makeup! Free Makeup! Free Makeup!

It really has nothing to do with Inauguration day, but if you go to your local department store, you can get your favorite designer makeup ... for free!

Inauguration Day Freebies

Right now, until the end of the week (or until product runs out), Macy's, Dillard's and Nordstrom are giving every US citizen who bought cosmetics between 1994 and 2003 between $18 - $25 worth of free cosmetics. No. We are not joking. In settling a class action lawsuit, retailers agreed to give away $175 million worth of products. You don't need a receipt, all you need to do is sign an affidavit claiming you bought products during that time. Easy!

You don't just get a new President today, you get a new lipstick too!

UPDATE: Thank you Three Stairs for making this point. You can only get free makeup if you purchased cosmetics from these stores during that time. Oops! We regret our error.

Disappointed in makeup giveaway choice of body wash gels mascara all marked not for sale. People were going from one department store to the next in our mall. Neighbor said they drove from one mall to another one for the free goods.

it sucks that you have to be a citizen to receive free makeup sooo not fair…

According to the legal document, only US citizens who bought cosmetics *from those stores* are entitled to a free product. Your post wording makes it sound as though anyone who bought cosmetics period are entitled to free product.

Also, the cosmetics counters have not become free-for-alls. Only specific items are designated as free, and those that are marked as such are listed in the documentation.

Bad show for not being more up front with details, MomLogic. This post is vague and misleading, and thereby a disservice to your readers.

The offer is true but it’s very limited. You can find which stores and which products are involved at http://www.cosmeticssettlement.com/

Barely worth the gas unless you love one of these products…

I got the Lancome Primordiale Cell Defense 1 oz. skin serum at Macys. It normally retails for $64. Definitely worth the drive.
