Defense attorney denies he has any entertainment deals in the works.
Rumors have been circulating for weeks about attorney Jose Baez brokering entertainment deals to pay for the defense of his client Casey Anthony. Baez defended himself in a press conference yesterday featured on crimesearchers.com.
Before, during, and after his prepared statement, Baez refused to answer any questions. He claimed he has "absolutely no book deals or entertainment deals ... of any kind with anyone."
In his five-minute address, a somber Baez railed against an unnamed "tabloid television
correspondent" repeatedly. He was presumably referring to Nancy Grace of the FOX network.
Baez blamed the media for spreading "unsubstantiated rumors." He also said allegations that he engaged in close, intimate, and possibly
inappropriate embraces with Casey while visiting her in jail were untrue.

Baez graduated from a bottom-tier law school (St. Thomas) & took 8 YEARS to pass the bar exam (in 2005), and misrepresented his experience by listing cases he merely observed as a student (in the mid-90’s) as “trial victories” on his website.
Baez has the vocabulary & grammar one would expect to see in a typical 12 year old, not a lawyer!
He, honest to God, thinks “disjustice” is a word! That’s NOT a lawyer!
This incompetent hack is going to give Casey Anthony an easy road to an ‘ineffective assistance of counsel’ claim!
Baez should have gone for insanity plee to begin with. All he is doing by dragging this out(with much proof that she did do it) he is only sending her to the electric chair.
In my observation of Mr.Baez I believe he is representing his client Ms. Anthony properly. The name calling and put downs of him are outrageous and uncalled for. Baez has organized an outstanding defense team on Ms. Anthony’s behalf. Great work Baez.

Baez could have had tot mom talk early on, get a plea deal and have a proper burial for little Caylee. Instead, he embraced this one in a million opportunity for a nobody lawyer to grab the limelight. He chose to roll the dice on his guilty client’s behalf, stop her from talking while poor Caylee’s body decomposed in the florida heat. Great Job Jose, roll the dice and go to trial, the electric chair awaits your client and you will go back to legal obscurity. I hope you “defense tactics” haunt you for a lonnng time.

I think Baez is a sleezeball who will stop at nothing to defend his client and I mean nothing. He keeps trying to pin the blame for this tragedy on everyone but Casey. I am all about personal responsibility for one’s actions but those two are both cowards that can not admit to what she did and who will lie to get her out of these charges. They both make me physically ill!
No, you can’t believe Baez. I love how he gets upset at the allegation of entertainment deals, yet he won’t disclose how Casey’s defense is being funded. Common Baez, do you think we are all as stupid as you? Thank God for Nancy Grace keeping this case front & center & revealing all of the “dirt” on Baez & the Anthony family. The public is entitled to the truth & Caylee is entitled to justice.

Hilarious. Sure, he has gathered a great defense team…because he knows he is NOT qualified to handle a case of this magnitude. But Mac, that leaves us all to the question of how an unemployed young mother is affording a celebrity defense??? If Baez has nothing to hide, i.e private donors, then why not release the source of funding? You know why Mac - Baez is trying to cheat and get away with it. Baez deserves every name he’s been called & more - he deserves to be disbarred.

He’s gotta be getting paid somehow. No, I don’t believe him, or anyone connected to the case. I feel horrible for George and Cindy, even if I do think they know more than what they’re saying. George threatening to commit suicide last night, I really want to scream at Casey right now. I’ve honestly never seen someone that has shown so few emotions about their child. GRRRR!!!!
