Leading hospitals across the country revealed they have had to expand door frames by up to four inches to cope with overweight women and the oversized beds used to accomodate them.

A whopping 30 out of 33 birthing centers in London have confirmed that the dimensions of their doorways have increased -- and they have had to expand frames by up to four inches to cope with massively overweight moms to be.

While rising obesity is a concern in the general population, it is a particular problem for pregnant women, because of the health risks to them and their unborn children.

Doctors in the UK reveal that up to 50% of women giving birth in some areas of the UK are now classified as obese.
