Neighbor: Octuplets From Sperm Donor

In an effort to try and find out more about the woman who gave birth to octuplets earlier this week, we went to the home she shares with her parents and six other children in Whittier, California.

Pregnant woman and baster

What we learned is that her whole neighborhood is buzzing about the possibility that the 33-year-old mother used the same sperm donor to conceive the octuplets AND her other six children.

In an exclusive interview with momlogic, one neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, revealed that the very pregnant young mom was THE hot topic of conversation at the neighborhood Christmas party. He says, "From what I heard, she likes kids, she wants a jillion kids. She even lied to the doctors who impregnated her." The grandmother of the octuplets told the LA Times she never expected fertility treatments would lead her to conceive her eight babies. Neither doctors nor family members have commented on whether or not she used donor sperm.

When asked if he knew who the father of the baby is, the neighbor said, "She is single. She used a sperm donor, someone she knew, who donated sperm a long time ago. He donated the sperm for the first six kids and she used his frozen sperm for these ones. I don't think the sperm donor knows about these eight kids. He was not involved."

According to the neighbor, the parents are very supportive of their daughter and even lost their own home in an effort to support her. "The parents lost their house supporting their daughter," the neighbor went on. "They actually bought this house for her, but then they lost their house supporting her and her kids and they had to move in with her. And now her father has to go back to Iraq to earn more money to support her. Her father either works as a truck driver or an interpreter [in Iraq]."

As to whether the mother herself works, the neighbor says: "She's a professional student and I want to know where the money's coming from to do this. Maybe she's using her student loans to do it."

The family is very private: "They stick to themselves and you can always hear the grandma yelling at the kids because they are so rambunctious."

Although many think the birth of the octuplets is a happy miracle, the neighbor disagrees. "We should find out who the doctor is and where the money came from because this is irresponsible. The girl seemed a little off -- and I don't want to be paying for her kids."

Mind your own business…….she has the right to birth as many children as she chooses…..a way will always be provided for their support, and her mother should let dirty laundry from her mouth remain in the home.

How can you say to mind your own business and that her parents sold their house to move in and help her? They lost their home due to forclosure and are in tons of debt. There has been proof that she has been looking into state assistance for these children. On top of all this any reputable doctor looks at many factors when impregnating women. 1. Is it medically necessary 2. Is it medically safe 3. Is the person financially sound for the treatments and to support and properly take care of the children and 4. Is the person doing this for the right reasons and are they mentally sound. Personally from everything released it sounds like she has failed all of the above! Do what you want, but when your selfish “hobby” takes from me and mine you better believe I will come out swinging.

Well, the babies are here, all eight of them……….and whether welcomed or not, fame (good or not so good), is following.
Only Heaven knows what has motivated this woman to do what she has done. But I am praying that these children are healthy and cared for in a loving enviornment.
As for the mother……….she needs counseling…..IMMEDIATELY ! !
and the doctors that PERMITTED this to happen,(under these circumstances), no job, no husband, need to be investigated before it happens again.
WHO monitors their practices???

I have no problem funding these babies! Out with Obama and in with a family of 14! Yes!

JGoldberg February 1, 2009, 6:14 AM

I think this is an injustice to the kids. What parent has enough time to devote time for the nurturing of all these babies and siblings. Its a true responsibility. What is she a reproductive oven. The doctor should have been shot and then tied her tubes. It’s the taxpayer that will have to pay for them. My Dad had a client that had 11 kids. When you went to the home it smelled like a urinal. This is living

The woman made an admirable decision. At fertilized and drozen eggs remains from her first birth. Eight human being in a state of frozen suspended animation.

When the time came, rather than seem them destroyed, she chose to give them the fullness of life.

When all eight became viable, rather than listen to doctors who recommended targeted abortion, she chose to give all of her children life.

At each point where she could have opted to submit to a culture of death, she chose to honor God’s gift of life.

Yet the ignorant masses verbally stone her. Oh ye generation of vipers! You modern day sadduces and pharasees!

Mind your own business and stop projecting your questionable morality of convenience on someone else.

I hope her daddy has enough money to take care of her many children. Tax payers don’t want stuck with her bills. We’re tired of dishing out money to take care of women that can’t keep their legs shut and their crap load of kids.

I know a nice couple who have tried to have a baby for 14 years. They are lower middle class and can’t afford the $10k it would take to go through that procedure. Then there’s this deadbeat mom. She has the money to do it… TWICE? She’s mentally ill. Tie her tubes and give the kids to people who can afford them.

Brandi February 1, 2009, 6:41 AM

I don’t get it if this mother was married and was working we would be supporting her decision to have these children. Now don’t get me wrong she is crazy to have so many children at one time, and someone is going to have to support those children and it sure should not be the tax payers. She needs to go get a job and start doing for those children instead of her parents,

This woman is an unfit mother. All of her children should be removed from the home and placed in safe sane homes. Her obsession shows that she suffers from some type of mental condition. Her parents are enablerers. They helped to contribute to her abuseive behavior by taking her and the children in. Why do parents like Casey Anthony’s inf FL always close the barn door after the horses have already left?

Dear Ava, The Duggersfully disclosed their finances. They have no debt, pay for everything in cash and have several small business they work at, (real estate rentals, and cell phone tower rentals are a couple sources of income. In addition they cut costs buying second hand whenever possible and making from scratch many household items. Check out their receipe for clothes washing detergent, it’s not only cheap, but works great!

I can’t imagine someone having this many children #1 as a single parent and #2 that she has no job. I think this girl and the Doctors who performed this are both irresponsible.

MrsTaz February 1, 2009, 6:53 AM

I know a woman who had one child and wanted another but couldn’t get pregnant. Fertility tests showed her husband had a low sperm count and her doctor told her she could get a sperm donor which she agreed to. She went to get doctor three times during the week she was ovulating and became pregnant. Her son is now 18 and is a spitting image of her doctor. Ack.

kytram39 February 1, 2009, 6:56 AM

here we go again, we the tax payers are going to support all these kids again and the county and state let it happen, when are they going to wake up to this kind of theft. you people should be outraged at this and start doing something about it. i would bet that they are not even american citizens and your footing the bill for it. makes me sick. we have are own citizens children and seniors that need help and they are throw to the curb. WAKE UP PEOPLE.

L. Maloney February 1, 2009, 6:57 AM

This is totally irresponsible, the doctor should have his license taken away. I would say the probability of the mother being on public assistance is probably a no brainer. She with all these children should be mandated to have her tubes tied or at the very least removed so that she can not find a doctor to put them back together. The money spent for the fertilization would have been better spent to send this lunatic to a psychiatrist.

If you can’t feed ‘em, don’t breed ‘em

Kat February 1, 2009, 7:02 AM

From what I’ve read the grandmother doesn’t support her daugthers choice and is leaving when the woman comes home.

Bill February 1, 2009, 7:08 AM

Have no fear, the great hussein obama and the dem welfare plan (and working Americans) will foot the bill.

i know many couples who would love to adopt a child, especially a baby they could raise as their own. going thru our current adoption system, they find there is a very long waiting list, possible 3-5 years or more before it happens. this woman should be ashamed of herself, and her parents should be also. this is so irresponsible. especially if it is proved to be funded by tax dollars. these children will never have a life of normalcy. imagine finding out you are the product of a sperm donor and not of a loving relationship. sure lots of people have children this way, but they go thru much counseling etc.. and are fully prepared emotionally, financially, etc.. to take the time and effort to raise a child. this woman should have the children put in a loving home of people who would devote much time and energy of raising a child. the doctor involved should be investigated by the medical community as to his ethics also.
