Neighbor: Octuplets From Sperm Donor

In an effort to try and find out more about the woman who gave birth to octuplets earlier this week, we went to the home she shares with her parents and six other children in Whittier, California.

Pregnant woman and baster

What we learned is that her whole neighborhood is buzzing about the possibility that the 33-year-old mother used the same sperm donor to conceive the octuplets AND her other six children.

In an exclusive interview with momlogic, one neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, revealed that the very pregnant young mom was THE hot topic of conversation at the neighborhood Christmas party. He says, "From what I heard, she likes kids, she wants a jillion kids. She even lied to the doctors who impregnated her." The grandmother of the octuplets told the LA Times she never expected fertility treatments would lead her to conceive her eight babies. Neither doctors nor family members have commented on whether or not she used donor sperm.

When asked if he knew who the father of the baby is, the neighbor said, "She is single. She used a sperm donor, someone she knew, who donated sperm a long time ago. He donated the sperm for the first six kids and she used his frozen sperm for these ones. I don't think the sperm donor knows about these eight kids. He was not involved."

According to the neighbor, the parents are very supportive of their daughter and even lost their own home in an effort to support her. "The parents lost their house supporting their daughter," the neighbor went on. "They actually bought this house for her, but then they lost their house supporting her and her kids and they had to move in with her. And now her father has to go back to Iraq to earn more money to support her. Her father either works as a truck driver or an interpreter [in Iraq]."

As to whether the mother herself works, the neighbor says: "She's a professional student and I want to know where the money's coming from to do this. Maybe she's using her student loans to do it."

The family is very private: "They stick to themselves and you can always hear the grandma yelling at the kids because they are so rambunctious."

Although many think the birth of the octuplets is a happy miracle, the neighbor disagrees. "We should find out who the doctor is and where the money came from because this is irresponsible. The girl seemed a little off -- and I don't want to be paying for her kids."

Our radio station news reported that it will cost $179,00 per baby, per year to raise them. How is it even possible for their mom to support them and her six other chidren? I tend to think it IS the taxpayers business.

This woman has some psychological problems and the doctor or clinic who went along with her crazy plans (esp. this second time) should be brought before the state medical board. Just because a patient wants to do something does not absolve the doctor of all responsibility.

Any woman who has six children and NO HUSBAND and was (according to her own mother) obsessed with having children since being a teenager, along with NOT having a job AND after filing for bankruptcy should have had PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING! Not fertility treatments. This woman is clearly mentally defective.

This is not only unethical. It is utterly irresponsible. If you can’t FEED ‘EM, Don’t BREED ‘EM!

Isn’t IVF expensive?

This is just another NON AMERICAN trying to get all she can for nothing. Now since Obama is in charge she will beable to have 30 more kids and her parents can move in with her and live in Obama Supported Housing, or better yet move into the White House as I heard it went Section 8. GOD BLESS THE USA!

It is clear that FSherman does not have children. It is about money. Ask any kid; and do not think it is how you raise them. These children will want everything all their friends have: food, shelter, clothes and Ipods. When their mom kisses them and tells them they should be happy with her love, it will not suffice.
And reading the blogger Betty, well it is plain she is drunk. Take a look at that message, it is hilarious!

Wanting to keep to herself? She is now demanding $2 million per appearance!! Now what do you think of her?

annonymous February 1, 2009, 8:32 AM

Yes this baby machine is on the system, from the media reports that is. If she is the messed up, they’re should be a minumum of a certain amount of the welfare will pay. Wisconsin used to have a law on the books that when you first apply the amount of children you have at the time of the application is all the only amount of children they would pay for. No matter if you had 12 more kids they only paid for the amount you had at the time of applying. This broad is crazy, why would you want 14 kids and single, chances of her getting a husband how are slim to none, you would have to have six jobs to support all those kids. Her nationality is used to being bare foot and prenant anyway.

WOW!!! WOW!! i just cant help by saying that… its so crazy what people are doing out there and that its so easy to just walk in a clinlic and say i want a sperm doner and have babies… with out questions who do have children ect… just like when u want to buy a gun and have to go through qestions and paper work… it might sound not right but do you think it sounds right that you have six and then you go and have eight more and not even a sopporter to help with those childrens… all i say is people are in welfare caues they allowed people like this woman to have so many children and not question why, who and what these kids will be taken care of…
i know alot of people have had many kids but they have a husband or a partner to raise those kids even some do a tv show to bring income as well this girl does not work and depends on dad and mom.. sick sick sick if you ask me. may god bliss us all!!!!

Grayowl February 1, 2009, 8:35 AM

I have trouble trying to figue out how you take care of that many children properly. Forget the money and the healthcare moaning. How does a mother provide the proper nurturing care to that big of a litter? I think it is irresponsible. She should have been content raising the first litter.

Vger February 1, 2009, 8:36 AM

TO Betty, you say you’re a retired government worker? Figures. You can’t even construct a gramatically correct sentence. Obviously the government didn’t waste our tax dollars sending your DUMB a$$ to school.

The Reverend Dirt February 1, 2009, 8:37 AM

Take a look at any population clock on the web and then justify one woman having 14 children. All of you that support this irrational and irresponsible behavior should have your heads examined.

Danice February 1, 2009, 8:38 AM

That’s the problem here Grayowl. Humans aren’t suppose to have litters.

Susu February 1, 2009, 8:39 AM

This woman and her family probably caculated the number of children she would need to pay her mortgage using AFDC (Aid To Families With Dependent Children) plus all the other benefits , WIC, food stamps,Medi-Cal. Gimme a break. Single, no job, professional student…puleeeeease!

Bear February 1, 2009, 8:40 AM

Fourteen more kids on welfare? That’s only a drop in the bucket for California. It will be next to impossible for this single mom to raise decent kids.

hardworking mom February 1, 2009, 8:41 AM

I work two jobs, six days a week just to help meet the bills. It makes me ill the thought that somehow this woman will be home and we will be paying her bills. The companies that contribute to her should be ashamed and posted. I know my friends will not buy their products. In fact, remember the key word is “BUY”. That mom probably doesn’t even know it exists.

Me February 1, 2009, 8:42 AM

The difference between the Duggars and the Gosselins and this mom in CA is that the Duggars and Gosselins SUPPORT their own families. They have their income that they rely on to feed, clothe, and house their families. I’m guessing that the one in CA is not.

Sandy Lynn February 1, 2009, 8:42 AM

I read yesterday somewhere on here that the grandmother of the children was against her having all these children not bing supportive as the neighbors say. She is caring for the first 6 but as soon as the mom gets home from the hospital she is not going to be there any longer.

BENOSY February 1, 2009, 8:43 AM

To me it sounds like she has a psychological problem and might need help. Aren’t fertility drugs are for people who can’t get pregnant, why would a doctor use them on a person with six kids?

I think it’s OK to be nosy. People who are ‘private’ often have something to hide. NOT all private people, but I work in a hospital and I can assure you a lot of ‘private’ people have some very serious problems.

You don’t think with all those kids and no husband she isn’t getting support? If it’s 100% from her parents, then we step back and say “viva la diferance!”, but there’s nothing wrong with being sure. It

thematically fickle you are a bit two faced. How can you expect the neighbors NOT to have anything to say, look at all you had to say from just hearing about it in the news.
