Pregnant Teens: Is It Your Fault?

I am 17 years old, and I have been sexually active since I was 13. I barely use protection and I have had seven different sex partners.

This was 17-year-old Mariela's response to a recent story posted on Tyra about why teens are getting pregnant in such high numbers. Tyra went to the streets to find out why this is such a growing trend. Some of the responses will shock you:

"Parents are too busy. They're not taking care of the kids as well. Kids can do whatever they want now."

"Upbringing and the media. Lots of teenagers are sexualized and kids really can't relate to the parents."

"The media and magazines. There's so much pressure to be a sexual object."

"I'm 17 and just had my first child. I went through my pregnancy alone. The father was there 1/8 of the time. If I could say anything to every teen it would be to wait, a baby is a lot of work. Mine is six days old right now, and I get maybe four hours of sleep each night. My nipples are sore, my back hurts, plus babies are expensive. I've spent nearly $200 since I've had my son and that was only six days ago. But, I have to say, holding him and kissing his face -- I'll never regret going through with my pregnancy.

Watch this for more shocking responses.
