Rebecca Romijn's Twins' Crazy Baby Names

Rebecca Romijn and husband Jerry O'Connell welcomed their fraternal twin girls Dolly Rebecca Rose O'Connell and Charlie Tamara Tulip O'Connell Sunday, December 28th in California.

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connel

"Mother, father and both girls are all home and doing well," rep Lewis Kay shares. Rebecca is a fan of Dolly Parton, hence the name. Jerry named the other twin in honor of his brother Charlie, who met the twins in the hospital shortly after their Dec. 28 birth:"to see the baby and have Charlie meet Charlie was a real special moment." He adds that the fraternal twins were "taking their turns" crying and sleeping in the hospital: "They seemed pretty independent." On the role of being an uncle, Charlie joked that his role in the babies lives "is the best job of all. It seems like such a fun thing. I don't have to deal with any of the hassles."

Also, Tamara is Rebecca's sister. We're still not sure where Tulip and Rose come from!

Conceived naturally, Rebecca felt like "a beached whale" during much of the pregnancy, craving lemonade and soy cream cheese. We're sure she'll be back in supermodel shape in no time. We wish the couple all the best with their new arrivals.

There’s nothing crazy about these names. They’re great. Charlie? Rebecca? Rose? Not sure what all the commotion is about.

Come on Luke! Really? Dolly Rebecca Rose maybe but Charlie Tamara Tulip is just crazy! They’re all very pretty names just not all of them together. It’s like they had all these names picked out for their kids and couldnt decide on one so they threw all of them together. And they dont even sound good together. I guess with a mom that has three last names it’s normal-Rebecca Romijn Stamos O’Connell

The great thing about fame is the license to be eccentric. We as a society have created these personalities, giving them the mistaken impression of being royal, or above the “peasant” population. They’ve been treated differently so they’ll act in that fashion. Have you seen some of the names given to royalty in the past, with the purpose of pleasing so many antecedents and not offend anyone? They’ll probably be called by their “first” names anyway. I’m glad they aren’t given the same type of name Lisa Bonet gave her little one. Is her husband Hawaiian or Samoan, or what? Maori? As long as the kids are taught to be proud of their names and given positive loving support by their parents they’ll most likely be fine. They’re schoolyard reputation will be a different matter, unless they go to school with Mowgli Bronx and Pilot Inspektor, or maybe even Apple. If Apple grows up and has a girl, will they name her Apple II? Or IIc? If she has a boy will they name him Mac? Never mind.
