A Seattle daycare was shut down after the state discovered that a sex offender had been living in the home.

The daycare provider Seiri DuPen says that she hired Patrick Neale Brown to do work around the house, but denies that he had been living in her home. "I didn't background check him because he was... outside and away from the kids," she said.

Brown's criminal record involves sex crimes against children and possession of heroin.

Under state law, DuPen is still allowed to operate the unlicensed preschool for up to four hours a day.

sorry but she is being trusted with the care of these children. How can she justify NOT taking every precaution? Shame on her and I hope that no one sends their kids there anymore.
