PiscesDance Team Too Sexy for High School
Their YouTube video was called "The Sluts of Jonesboro."
The Jonesboro High School dance team in Georgia has been suspended for the year after students danced provocatively at a school basketball game.
School officials have barred the eight-member dance team from practicing or performing this year, said Jacqueline Evans, a spokeswoman for the district.
Parents complained the girls danced inappropriately at halftime during a Jan. 13 basketball game. A video posted on YouTube showed the girls in thigh-high stockings, tiny shorts and tight shirts dancing on chairs during portions of their routine.
The video, titled "The Sluts of Jonesboro," has since been taken down. Evans said she didn't know anything about the video.
"The team will not perform for the remainder of the year, nor will they represent the school in any other performances," Evans said Tuesday.
School staff investigated the dance and disbanded the team three days later, Evans said. The girls were not disciplined.
The school's step team will perform at halftime for the remainder of the basketball season. However, all routines must be screened by staff before the performance, Evans said.

Sure do. Whatever happened to just plain cheering? There is no need to dress slutty or dance provocative at any sporting event but especially high school events.
Isn’t there supposed to be a teacher/drill team instructor involved in the team? I did not see the video so I can’t comment on whether the dance was inappropriate.
Why are we arguing about the sluttiness of cheerleading when they’re a dance squad?

I don’t think stripper moves such as hip rolls and dry-humping the air belong at any high school event.
First of all, THEY WERE TERRIBLE.
Secondly, They got what they deserved and probably should’ve gotten a harsher punishment..What that is? I dont know!? but the 1st half of it wasn’t “that” bad…but the worst part was the guys who ran out on the court and sat in the chairs…THAT WAS RIDICULOUS!!!! Do you know how many CHILDREN go to High school B-ball games?? a LOT…The term “Sluts” describes them well. I am ashamed.
When I was in high school the principal disbanded the dance team completely, not just for the year, because they were dancing inappropriately.
Were any of their parents in the audience? If so they should have dragged them off the court!

why is there a picture of cheerleaders posted with this article? this was a DANCE team that did this, not cheerleaders. cheerleaders always get blamed if they do slightly provocative move. heck, my dance team pops booty like they’re in the club, in fact they even take their hair out of their pony tails and shake it around so much you might as well just give them a pole. most cheerleaders are not slutty, however some dance teams may be.

Definitely. When I was cheering (ages ago) it was a fun extracurricular. ‘Now it’s so competitive. the uniforms are getting shorter and the routines are borderline pole dancing. The cheer coach should also be suspended. I highly doubt he/she had no knowledge of the routine prior to the game.
