Passengers were told to prepare for a water landing.
Reports indicate the flight, to New York from Charlotte, may have hit a flock of geese or a bird. There were 146 passengers on board, along with 5 crew members. The FAA has announced that everyone made it out and is fine, with just four people being treated for hypothermia.
One passenger on the plane said they were told by the pilot to prepare for a water landing, so they grabbed seat cushions and life vests. Immediately as the plane hit the water, several passengers moved out and onto the wing.
One witness told the Associated Press, she thought, " why is it so low?" and then, she says,"splash, it hit the water."
Another passenger told a local station in NY that passengers on the plane all made sure the women and children got out first.
