Woman Sues Over Misleading $1 Million Jackpot

A Mississippi woman is suing a casino after her winning slot machine displayed a $1 million jackpot, but the casino says there is a clearly posted sign stating a maximum $8,000 payout.
IP Casino attorneys state that winner Florida Eash's $1 million display was a programming error. However, the machine did signal to the casino's accounting system that there was a $1 million win pending.
The Mississippi Gaming Commission supported Eash's claim, but a judge later rule in favor of the casino.
"Nowhere did she see she could win more than $8,000 when she walked up to that machine," said Scott E. Andress, an attorney representing IP Casino.
The case was taken to the state Supreme Court on Wednesday and is still awaiting a decision.
