Adventure Travel with Kids

One of my best friends -- a mom of three kids under 9 -- is taking her kids to JAPAN for spring break. Would you do it?

Momlogic's Julie: I love to travel.

Since having my two kids, my travels have slowed a little bit, but I have tried not to let motherhood stamp out my wanderlust. My kids, 8 and 5, have been on more plane trips than I can count. And, yes, I've been thrown up on at 20,000 feet -- but lived to tell the tale.

But my friend Michele definitely takes things to the next level. She goes on adventure treks with her kiddos -- age 9, 6, and 3. In fact, when I asked her where she was heading for spring break, she said JAPAN. Which is a 14-hour plane ride away! And, no, she doesn't speak a lick of Japanese.

Wow. She's my hero!

When I took my kids to Hawaii when they were 3 and 5, some said "they're not going to remember it, so what's the point?" Well, there are always pictures and videos to remind them of the great time we had. Plus, I believe that travel helps shape who we are, and will make our kids braver and more adventurous, even if they don't remember the details.

We go for holiday tour not only for recreation or seeing the sights but also to enhance our knowledge. I agree with the fact that even the kids learn a lot by seeing new people and places. Presence of kids never reduces our freedom to enjoy as per our wish becauuse most hotels offer baby sitting services.

I took my kids, 7 and 4 to Ireland this summer. It was great!

A powerful share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a bit of analysis on this. And he in reality bought me breakfast as a result of I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to debate this, I feel strongly about it and love studying more on this topic. If attainable, as you turn into experience, would you mind updating your weblog with extra details? It’s highly useful for me. Huge thumb up for this weblog post!
