Do Casey Anthony's fingerprints appear on the duct tape found with little Caylee's remains?

Hundreds of pages of additional documents are expected to be released in the case against the slain toddler's mother this week.

According to a source close to the investigation, test results from the FBI crime lab on the duct tape found on Caylee Anthony are in the new documents.

When asked by a local reporter if Casey Anthony's fingerprints are on the duct tape, a source with direct knowledge of the investigation said, "This is not going to be good news for the defense."

However, other sources contradict that report, claiming the documents will show that FBI lab tests reveal no fingerprints were found on the duct tape.

In related news, Casey Anthony's defense attorney Jose Baez checked himself into a hospital Friday night with a "stomach ache," according to his spokeswoman Marti Mackenzie.

Momlogic will post the relevant documets as soon as they're made available.

“Hurricane Casey” has struck one more victim, that is Jose Baez.No one in her path escapes her wrath. Jose’s ulcer must have bled when he heard about the fingerprints on the sticky side of the duct tape being that of Casey. It clearly shows that whatever Jose thought was the true story from Casey is now exposed as just one more lie.Jose now feels the pain of the lies and betrayal that all the other victims of Casey have suffered and continue to suffer each day.

Well, are they her fingerprints are not? Has anyone heard

Miracle2 February 17, 2009, 3:17 PM

Oh well … if her fingerprints are on the duct tape, then Baez might have checked in for an ulcerated ulcer, an accompanying migraine, weakness in the intestinal area and blurry tearful vision. I sure hope so. But, if there’s no fingerprints, I will only experience a momentary instant of slumped shoulders, until I remember that the prosecutors feel they have a strong case anyway …

WOW WHAT A SURPRISE… I MEAN DID ANYONE REALLY THINK THAT ANYONE BUT THAT MURDERER CASEYS FINGERPRINTS WOULD BE ON THE DUCT TAPE PLEASE TO THINK HOW THAT CHILD SPENT HER LAST FEW MINUTES ON THIS EARTH AT THE HANDS OF HER OWN MOTHER MAKES ME FEEL ILL, AND IT SHOULD EVERYONE ELSE INCLUDING GEORGE, CINDY, AND LEE STOP COVERING FOR THIS MONSTER I KNOW SHE YOUR DAUGHTER, BUT CAYLEE WAS YOUR GRAND DAUGHTER, AND SHE WILL DO THIS AGAIN IF SHE GETS AWAY WITH THIS .

WHO CARES SHE DID IT EITHER WAY!

BARRY February 17, 2009, 3:51 PM

I think you will find that that tape has Casey’s prints Also the heart sticker will be found to be from some of the crafting stuff taken into evidence from the house. The gas cans were taken by Casey because she was out of gas the day the car was left in the parking lot.Don’t forget she was broke and on a spending spree.Ultimately, she plead to avoid the death penalty.

Finger prints or no finger prints this gal is guilty! Her atty knows she’s guilty just like the rest of us but he has to make a name for himself and what better way than represent the most hated woman in the world! C’mon ppl this isn’t rocket science, do you really think he would be representing her out of the kindness of his heart if the media wasn’t all over this? For Baez it’s free publicity and win or lose that’s PRICELESS! She lucked out with Nancy Grace staying on this topic and keeping the story alive.

Just using logic, I would think that a person who tore the duct tape after applying it would not only leave fingerprints, but a residue of DNA on the tape as well. And, the plastic bag would certainly yield fingerprints

SmartOne February 17, 2009, 7:11 PM

If a person were to apply duct tape, they would have to tear or cut the tape in order to apply it. I would think that not only fingerprints would be on the tape, but also a small amount of DNA left behind where the tape sticks to the fingers or hands.
The plastic bags should also yield fingerprints

i dont know about everyone else but she makes me sick. her parents are in denial. i think that her brother has been covering 4 her. she duct taped her
mouth in a hate moment and put a heart on it in a love moment. she should get the death penalty and they should duct tape her mouth 2 days before. her lawyer is scared that maybe people will
find out things about him and her.

Michelle  February 17, 2009, 8:13 PM

They have not said that they found fingerprints yet. Lets not jinx it.

laura February 17, 2009, 8:20 PM

if there aren’t fingerprints then it means she wore gloves, which would indicate a level of premeditation, and possibly bring back the death sentence.

either way, prints or not, she should be getting her rear handed to her, as long as they can prove she did it. and i have no doubt they will.

connie February 17, 2009, 8:46 PM

It would be hard to handle duck tape with gloves on. I think the family already knew about this evidence and decided to do the memorial now, afraid of an uproar from the public at the service, so they did it now. I bet the defense suggested it.

Until we see the documents, we can’t speculate whether Casey’s fingerprints were on the duct tape or not. Remember the state filed the case of first degree murder two months before the body was discovered, confident they could get a conviction. They don’t need fingerprints because they have air tests showing a dead body was in Casey’s car trunk and a hair from the trunk matching the hair on the skull plus much more evidence from the body and the remains site. Tomorrow they should release the evidence to the public that shows what evidence they have from the crime scene.

Why so many people keeps saying they saw you before on a celebrity and
wealthy dating site like “Richromances.com”or something.

Jill from Western Australia February 18, 2009, 3:04 AM

Can’t wait to read the documents.

SanSmith February 18, 2009, 9:49 AM

I’ve been on other forums about the incrimnating docs and I’ll just put my two cents in here too. IF and do mean IF she is smart enough to go ahead and beg for a plea bargain and provide a full confession, I think the judge should give her at least 50 years in prison instead of life. Now you may not all agree on this one with me but here is my logic:1)She will think that 50 years is a better deal than life or DP and go for it and 2)by the time she gets out she will be 72 years old and she will never be able to reproduce or raise another child. I think this would be fitting punishment for a baby killer who killed her own.

laura February 18, 2009, 10:05 AM

to connie-

i could see how some kinds of gloves would make it hard to handle the duct tape, but when it comes to a choice between leaving fingerprints and struggling a little extra with the tape, most smart criminals would go with the struggle.

that being said, we should expect to hear that they DID find prints.
casey not being well known for her intelligence and all….

just hangin February 18, 2009, 10:06 AM

Casey, Casey, Casey, its all you hear about, what about Haleigh the 5 yr. old missing from Fl. I think we will have a 17 yr. old facing the DP soon also.

Bjones February 18, 2009, 10:22 AM

The tiny body was double wrapped, first in a duffle bag/laundry bag, then in a trash bag. The body was then underwater for a few weeks. That would mean that the water somewhat preserved the body. By putting the body in a plastic trash bag, Casey inadvertantly preserved prints…her prints. Many cases are brought to justice over duct tape prints. Obviously, the person who killed the baby, knew the baby. I just don’t see any other way to defend Casey other than taking a plea. Sheesh, Baez must really be stressed out!
