These are tough times, and many of us are having to make less go further when it comes to food. Well, never fear: 93-year-old great-grandmother Clara is cooking nutritious and delicious meals straight from the Great Depression.

From a Poorman's Feast (made with lentils, rice, parchment-thin steak and bread) to Peppers and Eggs, you'll fall in love with Clara and her cooking just like we did.

Would you try "Depression Cooking"?

she’s so sweet! what a nice, simple video.

i’ll definitely try some “depression cooking.” we’ve been so blessed this far to not be devastated by the economy. i think it’s so important to minimize spending in every way we can, and cooking is a great place to cut back on expense and learn new tips and styles of cooking.
