A 16-year-old girl was found dead and another girl unconscious in an Army barracks on a base south of Tacoma.

Fort Lewis spokesman Joe Piek says that no outward signs of physical trauma were found on either girl. The unconscious teen was taken for emergency medical care and is being reported in stable condition. Results from the dead girl's autopsy won't be released for a week.

The Army is investigation what the teens were doing at the barracks and whether or not alcohol was involved.

The soldier who signed the two girls on base has been questioned but no arrests have been made.
