PiscesEtta James Bashes Beyonce!
Last week at a concert in Seattle, 71-year-old legend Etta James bashed Beyonce over her recent performance of "At Last" at an Inaugural Ball.
Beyonce's serenade to President Obama and the First lady Michelle Obama was certainly a moving rendition, but James was not pleased. She told the crowd at her concert, "Your President, the one with the big ears ... he had that woman singing my song. She goin' to get her ass whipped."
She continued, "The great Beyoncé ... I can't stand Beyoncé," according to audio from Crown City Media.
We don't get it. Those are some strong fighting words. Could she be angry about Beyonce's portrayal of her in the recently released "Cadillac Records?"

hehehe well I find it funny. Maybe she would’ve preferred to have rendered that song herself, she did make that song famous after all. I’m with her though, I think Beyonce is overrated and I don’t think she should’ve portrayed the great Etta James in that movie!

With the way she referred to Obama as ” your president…not mine…” well obviously she didn’t vote for him… I’d be curious to find out why she didn’t . Also, I wonder if Etta was asked to sing At Last and possibly turned it down before Beyonce was chosen.
Etta James was not even the original singer of that song!! She is 71 yrs old, & sounds ridiculous!
wow etta seems s bit jealous. life is too short you knoe? it’s now b;s time to shie and she is doing it very well. i think etta should be honored by being potrayed her in the movie and also song her song. That means she is very capable, SASA is doing her thing well. i am prerry sure she feels honored as well. they should have a nice cup of tea!
When the movie first came out I read Etta said she ws honored Beyonce was playing her and that she is such a talented artist and did a great job. I have also hear that Etta can be a b*tch and she is showing it. I can understand if she felt like B (my girl) took her song and tried to use it like her own, but come on she just sang it in the movie and it was a used for a pretty historic event so she should feel at least happy B sang it. I mean the girl is a great writer and has many writer who could have made a song for the dance instead she sang hers. But I don’t think B cared if she liked it or not, but if someone is singing single ladies in 40 years like it’s there own I’m sure she wont like it either. Anyways Etta show enjoy her 15mins of fame in the new millenia before its over by the end of this month.

I like that she is feisty! I’m not a big fan (to put it nicely) of Beyonce either, and I think at 71, Ms. James has earned the right to say whatever the heck she wants at one of her concerts.

Anybody who’s ever seen Etta James in concert knows she was just “BS”ing with her crowd. Plus —when called on it, she said she was just playing!If you saw the movie you can see what type of personality she has—-if she wasn’t just jiving around with her concert crowd when called on it she would have said “Yeah I said the S#@% and that’s what I mean!” Entertainers like Etta James and Millie Jackson etc. it’s part of the fun at their concerts when they BS with their crowd.I’ll bet you everybody at that concert knew she was adlibing an intro to her singing “At Last”. People are forever trying to throw rocks—“Chill Out!”
