Tragedy happened last night outside nightclub; two suspects are at large.
Cops say a man and a woman doused a mom of two -- who works as an exotic dancer -- with an accelerant and set her on fire outside a Southern California bar, leaving her fighting for her life with burns over 60% of her body.
The crime occurred about 1:30 AM outside the Babes & Beer nightclub, said Los Angeles Police Deputy Chief Michel Moore.
The 27-year-old woman, who has two young children, was hospitalized in grave condition, Moore said. Her name was withheld.
According to a police statement, the woman was summoned outside the nightclub where she works, "to meet with two acquaintances." She then was doused with the accelerant and set on fire, but managed to go back into the bar to seek help.
"These are two individuals that, in a very violent manner, attack this young woman with no provocation," Moore told reporters. "There's really no justification for this."
Detectives held a news conference at the crime scene this morning and released the names and photos of the wanted man and woman, identified as Nathaniel Petrillo, 22, and 27-year-old Rianne Theriault-Odom.
KCAL9 reported that the wanted woman is a former employee of the bar, and that the suspects were identified based on witness statements.
The suspects fled in a metallic gold, newer-model four-door sedan. Police asked anyone with information on their whereabouts to call them.
A neighbor told Channel 9 that he was shaken by the attack.
"You know, it's shocking, it really is, and to have these people out on the loose, doing what they did -- wow," he said.
