Here's how it works: Dietitian in the Kitchen, Diane Henderiks has created a printable meal plan, shopping list and recipes for the following week. When Monday rolls around, you are ready to go for the week!
Week Five Menu:
Monday: Citrus Rubbed Salmon over Caesar Salad
Suggested side: Whole wheat garlic bread
Tuesday: Chicken Burritos
Suggested sides: Pico de Gallo and Guacamole
Wednesday: Black Bean Soup
Suggested sides: Mixed Green Salad with Mexicali dressing
Thursday: Chicken in Wild Mushroom Gravy
Suggested sides: Wild Rice and Steamed Snow Peas
Friday: Spinach Frittata
Suggested sides: Hashed potatoes and Sliced tomatoes

Here in the Midwest, the grocery store chain Hy-Vee comes out with weekly menus as well (one regular one and one that is lower in fat, salt, etc). The menus are created by registered dietitians also. These correspond to the weekly ad also. Such a great tool. I don’t always use every menu idea, but it is nice to have healthy, quick ideas to choose from. You can get the recipes/menu at www.hy-vee.com under “Healthy Living” click on weekly menu. (They alo have tons of recipes with nutrition information included!)
I love this every week so I am really bummed that there is no entry for this week Feb. 16th.
These are such great recipes! My husband and I appreciate the organization and healthy ingredients. We hope these entries continue!







This is absolutly a wonderful idea! I have never seen this done before and just now came upon it. Especially now that I am trying to shed off some unwanted pounds. Thanks for the help and I look forward to nexts weeks menu!!!
