Lose a Job, Get a Refund

Worried about what will happen if you get laid off? Companies like jetBlue and Hyundai will help ease your mind.
Scared about you or your husband losing your job? No worries.
With the economic downturn severely crimping demand for travel, jetBlue has come up with a new approach to selling seats. Today the New York-based carrier introduced what it calls the "jetBlue Promise Program," designed to boost consumer confidence by promising to refund fares if passengers who bought tickets lose their full-time jobs.
The just-announced move is a response, officials said, to the fact that so many passengers were waiting until the last minute to buy tickets.
The program follows a similar announcement by car maker Hyundai, which is offering a refund program to new car buyers who lose their jobs within a year of the auto purchase.
Tell us, moms: Would this make you more likely to fly JetBlue or buy a Hyundai?
