PiscesHaleigh Search Finds "Items of Interest"
There's still no sign of five-year-old Haleigh Cummings after an extensive weekend search.
250 volunteers searched Putnam County, a rural area of Central Florida, for signs of Haleigh Cummings, but they failed to find anything suspicious, said a Putnam County Sheriff's official.
Investigators have also determined that several objects they deemed "items of interest" that were found by searchers Friday are not related to Haleigh's disappearance, Chief Deputy Rick Ryan said at a news conference.
The finds came hours after investigators finished questioning 44 registered sex offenders living near Haleigh's home in Satsuma, Florida. "All the sex offenders have been interviewed and their residences have been searched," said Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy. "They're cleared as far as us contacting them and speaking to them."
Haleigh's father Ronald Cummings and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Misty Croslin, have been questioned by police. They told FOX News' Greta Van Susteren that they had both submitted to polygraphs and "passed" the tests. Sheriff's officials would not release the results.
It's been five days since Haleigh was reported missing. She was last seen in her father's Satsuma trailer about 10 p.m. Monday. Ryan said that investigators are still hopeful they will find her.

The story has changed a few times too many for my satisfaction. I also believe something fishy is going on here, there didn’t seem to be too much sorrow, real feelings shown by the girlfriend. She never mentioned the little one using the bathroom, yet the story changed and the Dad said she disappeared after using the bathroom.He wasn’t there………so what really happened.

My gut feeling tells me the girlfriend knows a LOT more than she is telling…something is just not RIGHT in this picture!
In my oppinion,it’s drug related.Dad and or girlfriend probably owes money to a dealer and the girl is collateral.I just find it funny that the door was blocked by a brick,the girlfriend can’t remember what kid was sleeping with her,and now the bathroom thing.Not to mention that niether one really looked all that upset.If one of my girls had dissappeared in the night,I would strung up alll the local sex offenders one by one tell I found her.Then call the cops,let them clean the mess up
I believe there is more to the story. I think the girlfriend knows more. And why is a 17 year old girl with a 25 year old man. When I was 17 nothing, absolutely nothing got by me day or night. So yes I think there is more because of her stories changing.
I too believe that the 17 year old girlfriend had something to do with the disappearance of Haleigh. How do you not feel the child get up or get pick up when she is sleeping next to you. I think she didn’t want “Daddy’s little girl” around any more taking time away from her. Time will tell.
This was definitely an inside job the only question is one of motive. Usually there would be a vendetta against the parents or some other family member. If drugs were on the menu in that household they may have owed the supplier money.
I think the girlfriend put the kids to bed and went out on the dad, propped open the door so she could get back in. Who took the girl? I don’t know but the first time I heard the girlfriend and saw her close her eyes and TRY to look upset, I was reminded of Susan Smith who drowned her kids and pretended that they were stolen.
aren’t there statutory rape laws in florida? why is no one concerned that the dad- 25, has a 17 year old child for a girlfriend?
I am a 68 year old grandmother and I can’t explain the feeling I have but I agree with CJL on this one. A seventeen year old girlfriend with a 25 year old man….? I think ‘girlfriend’ didn’t need the competition from a darling five year old!
I saw a comment about Nancy Grace If it wasnt for her alot of these stories would fall through the cracks…. I think that someone took the little girl and I only pray that they find her alive.. Her family is distraught over this and I feel for her parents….
I am so saddened by this news any child missing is horrific I could not imagine either one of my girls being gone and hope I never have to. However, I think Haleigh’s Dad is a concerned parent just like the rest of us would be. The girlfriend on the other hand she is no good its written all over her face. How does someone break into your house and you sleep through it let alone take a sleeping child from your bed. I have a feeling we are going to hear Misty was a jelouse little girl who thought Haleigh was in her way…
Did anyone read the 911 transcript of the call? OMG! The 911 operator would as her something, and she would repeat the question, and she kept saying “Huh…what?”.
It is always possible that someone broke in and took her while the gf was drugged to the point of passing out and that was translated to “sleeping” because it sounded better.
How did she not hear movement in a TRAILER?

Just bring her back alive and unharmed.Right,all those registered Sex offenders in the area.The girlfriend isn’t telling all the truth.Maybe she had friends over while Daddy was at work and she was partying with a friend or friends,maybe alcohol and or drugs were involved.Which story has she decided to stick with? And oh yea,why the hell didn’t she call 911 first?Too many holes in this story.I Pray for Haleigh but I’m not getting a good feeling from this,just as I did with little Caylee Marie Anthony. My husband is a former Police Captain,here’s a fact for you all that don’t know the law.The Police and or the examiner that administered the lie detector test DO NOT GIVE OUT THE RESULTS TO THE PEOPLE THAT TOOK THE TESTS!I also noticed that the underage 17yr old was smoking a cigarette,if I was Law Enforcement I would have walked over and charged her with a Minor being in possession of tobacco for starters! I think that would have been the beginning of charges on her.I hope they release the Evidence found soon!
There’s something definitely hinkey with that girlfriend. Her voice, pleading that the child be returned, sounded JUST LIKE Susan Smith, it was eerie. There were no signs of forced entry, so either the door was unlocked, someone had a key, or it was left open as a red herring.
Yes, in Florida it’s against the law and considered statutory rape for a person of 24 or more years to be with someone of 16 or 17 years. However, I doubt the prosecutor wants to charge this young man with that when he’s the parent of a missing child.. that would be political suicide at this point.
What I’d like to know is if that girlfriend had access to a vehicle.
I am puzzled about this entire thing! I, like so many others, wonder what a 17 year old girl is doing with a 25 year old guy? Was this just a ‘good baby sitter’ situtation? I doubt it. Something is fishy about the entire saga. I pray that the little girl is alive and she will be safe. What about the bio mom? You must be pretty bad to have your kids takern away from yoy. What’s up with that?
I wonder if the 17 year old kid went out partying after she got the children in bed, and she is not telling the 25 year old guy? Maybe thats why the back door was propped open, so she was able to get back inside.
I think it is a little unfair to say this but I believe in my heart that the dad’s girlfriend has something to do with this. The rumors about drug use and passing the polygraph test maybe the drugs sediated them from showing signs of lying. I don’t know, I am no expert but I just sense deception when I watch this young girlfriend, Misty. Why does Florida have so many child abductions or maybe those are most heard on Nancy Grace and other news outlets.
