Court records show Russell Simmons has agreed to pay $40,000 a month in child support. That's almost a half a million bucks a YEAR!

An L.A. County Superior Court judge approved the deal yesterday which gives ex-model and Baby Phat clothing mogul Kimora Lee Simmons sole custody of the couple's two daughters, 9-year-old Ming and 6-year-old Aoki.

Simmons, the 51-year-old hip-hop mogul, was granted visitation and must pay child support until each daughter reaches 19 and a half years of age. In addition to the cash and custody, 33-year-old Kimora Lee has final say on whether her daughters appear on her reality TV show "Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane."

Kimora, who is now pregnant with boyfriend Djimon Honsou's child, filed for divorce in March of 2008 citing irreconcilible differences. The divorce was finalized last month.

After the kids are taken care of (because that’s more then emough), I would get my hair and nails done. Go shopping for shoes. Go to little cafes to get lattes. Pretty much all the things I can’t afford to do now.

That’s ridiculous. It certainly doesn’t take $40,000 to raise 2 children.

I say, so what? Good for her. If she had remained married to him, the kids would get it anyway. It’s not like she’s some sort of gold digger. She’s always had her own money as a model and she has Baby Phat.

What would I do with $40,000 a month? Pay off every debt my mother, husband and I have. Save up to buy a house and save the rest for her education. I wouldn’t want my baby to struggle like her parents have had to.

Not fair to judge them. It’s the world they live in. You would expect the same if you were them.
