Oh no -- Hannah Montana is at it again!

Miley Cyrus has made headlines with her racy MySpace and Vanity Fair photos ... now she's moved on to offending ethnic groups. What a role model!

The OCA -- a group "dedicated to advancing the social, political and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans" -- is fuming at this photo of Miley and pals for using what they have deemed an offensive, stereotypical gesture, according to TMZ.

The OCA sent TMZ the following statement: "The photograph of Miley Cyrus and other individuals slanting their eyes currently circulating the Internet is offensive to the Asian Pacific American community and sets a terrible example for her many young fans. This image falls within a long and unfortunate history of people mocking and denigrating individuals of Asian descent."

"Not only has Miley Cyrus and the other individuals in the photograph encouraged and legitimized the taunting and mocking of people of Asian descent, she has also insulted her many Asian Pacific American fans," said George Wu, executive director of OCA. "The inclusion of an Asian Pacific American individual in the photo does not make it acceptable."

OCA hopes that Miley Cyrus will apologize to her fans and the APA community for this lapse in judgment and takes the opportunity to better understand why the gesture is offensive.

We called Miley's reps, but haven't heard back yet.

What do YOU think of this pic -- offensive or no big deal?

offensive

I’m wondering why no one cares that there is obviously drinking going on(see wine glass) and Miley is clearly too young for that.

its rude she should definetely apologize.

Dionne February 3, 2009, 3:20 PM

What was she thinking. Why would she even do that in the first place.

Anon February 3, 2009, 4:29 PM

She did it because she’s a teenager goofing with her friends, and has probably had a few drinks. Like we all did when we were teenagers.

Is it good? No. Should she know better? Yes. Are we all guilty of something like this at somepoint? For damn sure we are.

Celebrity teenagers are still victims of the human condition we all suffer from: the fact we’re not perfect 100% of the time.

Personally, I can’t stand any of these teeny-bopper starlets, but seriously, did we honestly expect any better from them? I know I don’t.

The thing is that she IS a star and she has people who look up to her. If this 16 year old is mature enough to have a 21 year old boyfriend and be in the spot light of millions of little girls then she should know better.

shes not even that cute, she has no class, shes a poser. She thinks she better than everyone and everyone should look up to ther because shes the “best” yeah right. shes arrogant! people like this do not get far, at least not for long. What does she have to gain for being like that? a bad rep that will catch up. Bye b**ch!

Where the heck are here parents? There is a person with what appears to be wine, they all look way too old to be hanging out with her and frankly her boyfriend is way too old too. I doubt seriously if she is practicing abstinance. What are her parents thinking????

Lisa February 4, 2009, 8:47 AM

I cringe to think that my almost 9 year old daughter has recently taken a liking to Hannah Montana(curse you peer pressure). Someone needs to parent this kid…she’s headed down the wrong path.

Why is everyone so uptight over this pic. My friends & I think it is funny and do the same things. Plus we are adults 25-33. Asian friends included. And why isnt the Asian guy in the picture offended? He looks more American than the rest. Haha
Look, I have a daughter who is impressionable too. I just have to teach her what is right. And who hasnt been at a party with drinking involved. It doesnt mean she was drinking (I’m giving her the benefit of doubt) And how do you know there were no parents there; who is behind the camera? I’m not saying I like her bu c’mon!!!

R February 4, 2009, 9:33 AM

Seriously, if this is the worst thing she does, then I think she’s doing okay. And I’m with anonymous-does anyone notice the guy who appears to be Asian in the picture with them? He isn’t looking too upset!

Anonymous February 4, 2009, 9:43 AM

peer pressure (Asian guy) “They are making fun of me but I can’t say anything or I will seem like a dork. I will wait to go home and cry when I am alone at night.”

Rude girl, rude boyfriend, rude friends. That girl is a HICK.

BBC even got rid of Margaret Thatcher’s daughter after a stray off-camera remark, but what this girl does is far worse! No more Disney Channel at my house.

How many teenagers make fun and have fun with their friends. She needs time to just be a kid. If she wasn’t in the spotlight no one would care. Let her be a kid. And yes it appers that there is drinking, but you can drink other things out of a wine glass! I know not likely, but it is very easy to judge when your not there.

Better for her to be thought a closet racist, than to pose for a photo and remove all doubt!

If she had been making fun of black or Jewish people, would it be as acceptable as some of you think it is?

OFFENSIVE
&
Miley - Underage drinking is illegal!!

She’s just another overrated, spoiled brat!

Anonymous February 5, 2009, 9:38 PM

Wow, nice cherry on the cake.
I’ve never liked her. She seemed fake, she’s untalented, and she’s just another bubblegum pop star.

I’m Asian, but I’m use to peoples’ ignorance and racism. I was a bit offended by this picture, but not over-the-top.
Her reply to the outrage was what really ticked me off. She didn’t seem to give a damn. You can’t expect all Asians to understand your “joke” or “humor” since it’s taken as a racist gesture.

Overall..I believe she’s becoming too arrogant and snooty. Her “apology” seemed to come with eye-rolling.

Anonymous February 9, 2009, 8:59 PM

She knew exactly what she was doing.
“I wasn’t being racist”coming from a 16 yr old girl who also “didn’t mean to pose naked or in my bra and underwear”

WHAT A JERK

grego February 11, 2009, 12:27 PM

I don”t get it . who cares. what did these kids say, this is what Asians look like? If they didn’t and they are just making silly faces for the camera, then the people who are offended are stereotyping them selves!live and let live LOL.

Kevin February 11, 2009, 12:51 PM

I think you all blow this out of proportion. To the person who said the Asian probably went home and cried, you’re making assumptions. To the people who say Miley was drinking, you’re making assumptions.

To the people who say she’s no talent, isn’t pretty enough, is fake, ect. It’s the media and critics like you that have made cookie cutter, dime a dozen, bubble gum pop stars who cannot be themselves.

Everything these young stars do that’s not prim and proper, thats not mainstream and politically correct is plastered on the front pages. Even their personal lives, private photos, phone calls and conversations are put under the microscope for public consumption and scrutiny.

Most importantly there is a generational gap between these stars and their critics. Miley Cirus takes a naughty picture of herself and she’s setting a bad example. Yet thousands of young people have been doing that for years. This is the culture of the current generation. It’s very sexualized. Don’t blame Miley for this trend, she didn’t start it. Rather, she’s fallen victim to it.

These are a result of models and their “perfect” bodies. The explosion of porn and the internet. Memories documented in photo and video, not in your mind.

To say she’s not mature simply because of one photo shows how ignorant some people can be. You can have your opinions, but that doesn’t make you any less ignorant.

Oh, and if you’re jumping on Miley for this as offensive, why not jump on deaf people? Slanty eyes is sign language for asian person. Motioning a hooked nose if for Jews, pointing to the middle of your forehead is for Indians, and limp wrist for gays.

Maybe Miley’s learning sign language!
