A Michigan hockey mom has been charged with embezzling nearly $1 million from the local youth hockey organization.
In this economy, you would think she may have taken the cash to take care of her family and maybe even keep her house from going into foreclosure, but no. She bought a Cadillac Escalade, a dump truck (no, we're not kidding), paid for a couple of family vacations, and bought a pair of $3,890 diamond earrings, a $2,800 bracelet, a $3,500 watch and spent another $5,300 for 33 Pandora beads!
She allegedly set up accounts all over town to transfer the funds into her name, cashing checks ranging from $1,000 to $17,000.
Matt Dejanovich, a team sponsor whose son plays in the organization, says, "It's a sickening situation when money that is supposed to go to the kids is spent on personal needs."
Knight is free on bond and will appear in court for a preliminary hearing March 5.
